Opinions on these wheels for fd

What does everyone think about these wheels on an fd? Fitment is Bang on, price is fantastic, only thing wrong is the tire profiles. Seems like a good choice if they would change the tire sizes.

According to the specs they are 18x9 +30 and 18x10 +45. Thats not too bad, but tire sizes are definitely way too tall for an FD. Youll be rubbing everywhere up front. If youre going to go with them, get them without tires and order 255/35R18 and 285/30R18. The front offset still is a tad low and will require a roll. You could also just order 4 18x10 and run those all around. They are also pretty heavy at nearly 30lbs a piece.

I agree with above.

the wheels are too heavy and would effect performance to much in a negative way. I recommend looking into some RPF1's which are a good alternative to that. You can run some 255/35/18 tires all around on some 18x9.5" width wheels with a +45MM offset. rotatable and good tire size. The wheels only weight around 18lbs as well.

Another good option is the 17's in rpf1's as well. 17x9 +45MM or a 17x9.5 +38MM running a 245/40/17 or 255/40/17 tire size.

Yea the weight is not ideal, but at that price I wont complain. And I like the front wheels to be flush. I think I am going to consider these with a shorter tire.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I don't want RPF1s. All my friends have them and I want something different.

If you move to this wheel from the stock wheels, you will literally lose like 20-30WHP to the wheels as now the engine needs to turn a much larger/heavier wheel. Its a big difference.

Opinions are interesting, remember that they are opinions and personal. In my opinion, performance is king, so I would favor a lighter wheel and the widest tires I can run. Budgets are also personal, and we all have to stay within our own. Sounds like your priorities may lean towards style and budget more than some of us, so buy what you like.

The low offsets in the front are a bit of a concern in getting these to fit right, Mustang offsets are close but not perfect for and FD. Prepare to roll your front fenders and give up a bit on tire width. For example, my 235/45-17's, on a +37 offset, needed a fender roll to clear.
