So I found some rims I might get for the FC. They are a 17x8 +35 and 17x9 +38. I found that a 17x8 +32 and a 17x9 +35 will fot without unrolling the fenders with 225s and 255s. My question is, will this extra 3mm make a difference with the suspension? If I need a spacer, does anyone know where I can get a 3mm spacer? I can always get a 5.5mm spacer from JEGS and machine it down 2.5mm. But I would liek to just buy a 3mm soacer if possible. What do you guys think?

These wheels will also be sitting with the stock suspension, not driven with, just sitting until I get some coilovers. Any thoughts on this?

Which offset do you think would give me less headache? I think putting a 3mm spacer in would work with the suspension better.

at both front and rear i have a 15mm spacer, cause they weren't available in different offsets

yet another offset question... i am looking at some 16x7 wheels and i was wondering what the offset ranges for the front and rear are. i wouldn't ask if i had a set of stockers but i bought the car with an ugly set of 17's so i can't visualize properly. thanks!

my front passenger tire is sitting back a little more than it should due to the crash it was in in 90. my question is what size tires should i get for 17's? i have 225/50/17's now and on hard bump they rub slightly. so what should i get? id also like to lower my car at least 2 inches? is ther any adjustment to maybe straighten it back out?

Stock is +40.
The front should handle anything from +20 down to +40.
Rears got a lot more space - I would think anything from a +0 to a +55 in back would fit.

PLEASE fix the damage first before even thinking of putting on new wheels!

I'm looking at getting a set of 16x7s for my car and was wondering if the +42 would fit up front.

Thanks

4 Lug n/a

I have a base 86 n/a with the phone dials. I'd like to find a nice wheel/tire combo for when the car comes back from the body shop. I have yet to find a source online for wheels that fit. I'm just looking to make the car look nicer...it certainly isn't a racer.

I checked wheelmaster with no luck....as well as several Google searches. Can anyone help? Any pics of nice 4 lug wheels?

Thanks

J

Edit

Ok found a site with a bit of digging.

Thought about it.... I know someone who rolled a 91 and has everything I'd need but why would I "have to"?

I just want something that looks better than the phone dials. Car works well otherwise, I can't see a reason why I'd have to go through that.

Again, does anyone have any pics of a similar car with aftermarket wheels?

Thanks

J

5 lug is worth is 10475738 more wheel choices...

and 88rx... you should really fix it, you may have to replace your arms to do so but atleast everythign will work correctly again

I would recommend to get rid of the car and get another one.
Unless you're well versed in fixing chassis, it sounds like serious damage was done to the chassis.
As attached you are with the car, the smart thing to do is get rid of it.
Unless FC's are very rare in your area, getting another straight body is just peace of mind.

I could have sworn that the stock TII as 16.7 +40

edit:
http://www.teamfc3s.org/main/tips.php

Tire and Wheel Sizing

The stock wheels are 16x7JJ with a +40mm offset. The stock tire size was 205/55R-16. The main limitations on going to a larger wheel and tire diameter is the front suspension/fender. Some people have gotten 225's to fit up front with the stock tires and I use 245/45's on the rear with stock wheels. I've seen some people use 8" wheels up front and 9" wheels in back but I don't know exactly what offset they are using. If anyone with larger wheels can elaborate on this issue, please contact me.
So, +40 is for FW only? or are you saying anything over +40 offset is for FW?

no i am say the stock wheels fit like crap... and that while going after market there is no reason not to get a proper RWD offset. honestly 17x9 +15 is not hard to get under a FC at all four corners

I'm not looking for anything that large, though, thanks for the information. What I would like to know is if I have a 16x7 +42 up front with 215s will I have rubbing issues. Should have made my self more clear. Thanks again for the information.
