new wheels for the FC

I just picked these sweet two-piece wheels from this local shop for $50/wheel. I have no idea who makes them. If you do, please let me know. I had the original bolt pattern drilled from 5x108 to 5x114.3, or 5x4.25 to 5x4.5. They are 17x8 all around, and assuming the offset is correct (which i have no idea of yet), I'll have 255 width in the rear and 235 in the front. I really love the very basic star pattern, especially for a car such as the FC3S. Hope you like them.
Anybody got any late 80's Corvette center caps?

Yeah, I can't figure out if the offset is 38 or closer to 30. The measurement from the hub to the outside of the rim is 5.5 inches. So that is 1.5 inches of offset, correct? That calculates to roughly 38mm. If this is the case, then I will definitely get longer studs and spacers.

If you take the measurement from the hub to the inside of the rim, it is more like 1 inch of offset, being about 25mm. If it's that, I might have to roll the front fenders tad (if at all).

Either way, it should be cool.

So with a 235 width in the front 25mm, I won't need to roll the fenders? With 38mm, I'll just run a spacer (duh). Once I get the 5-lug conversion finished, we'll know for sure .

I was thinking I might paint the stars black but I like the way they look. It's pretty easy to tell but they are painted white on the inside portion of the star. The lip will stay polished metal. I'd rather have the look of metal there but I'm not complaining. I just want to get tires on them and mount them on the car first.

OK so the way I see it these seem to be around a +25ish offset.

General Tech Info below (disregard if you already know, just good to reiterate this)
An 8" wide wheel is not actually 8" from outside to outside, it's usually gonna be 1" to 1.5" wider due to the thickness of the rim lips. So when interpolate offset from backspacing you will need to take this into considertion.

Assuming you measured from the "wheel's pad or hub mating surface" to the "outside" of the inner barrel my calculations would go as such. We'll say your rim lip is only 0.5" thick on each side.

Centerline/Origin of the wheel is say 4", out of 8". We take your 5.5" and subtract 0.5" for the rim thickness. Now we're back on scale with the "printed" 8.0" measurement of the rim. Now from there you go 5.0" - 4.0"(centerline) = 1.0" x 25.4mm/in = +25 offset.

So your second measurement is absolutely correct. For this setup i would recommend running about three degrees of camber in the front to run a 235/40/17. You might still have to do something wiht the fender depending on your ride height and suspension setup.

Anyways hope my post reinforced your second calculation.

Thanks for the confirmation on that. Right now I'm counting on 25 but hoping for 30. We'll see once all preliminary suspension work is finished.

Did you mean 3 degrees of positive or negative camber? I'm assuming negative.
