My rear end 'pops' after i shift... HELP
Hey- I just got a 87 non-turbo rx7. Its a great car and all, but its got one little problem; when i start going, i'll shift from 1-2, 2-3, and so on. When I shift, as soon as I let the clutch out a little, the rear end kind of 'pops up'. I have been told that its the rear end bushings, but I really dont know. Someone PLEASE give me some info on how to fix this!!
And I have one more question-
what does FC mean?? Sorry, but I'm new to Mazda.

thx about tha FC thing andrew
but i've lo0ked at a few other threads now
and i think its the bushings now.
Because other people with the
problem say its the bushings.
one more question...
this may sound stupid,
but where would the bushings be?
i know they're in the rear end somewhere
but exactly where?
lol thanks a lot you guys

If it's loud it's the front diff mount... If it's not so loud, and the vibration continues, it's the u-joints on the driveshaft... Sounds to me like everyone pretty much nailed it though... Search for "welded subframe" and you'll find some good info on how to fix it up...
