A multi-piece wheel has to be held together with something, either bolts or rivets.

i understand that but think about how this would market. maybe you could have the pieces bolted together from behind? just thought it would be genius. i mean i would definitely buy a set.

Fikse builds the rims such that the bolts (they're not really rivets) are inserted through the bacside of the rim, and therefore aren't visible when monted on the car.

It would also be heavier than a proper 3 piece wheel. ptrhahn's Fikse example applies.

If you don't like the looks of bolts or rivets why not just buy a one piece wheel?

Link to Fikse wheels website.
http://www.fikse.com/

You can easily find TONS of pics of their wheels on the web.

Multi-piece wheels are always replaceable (unless the manufacturer doesn't produce them anymore).

Just a heads up Fikse rims are VERY expensive . . . . i think they can run you around $2500-3000 for the rims alone

My favorite wheel is the HRE 841r all there 800 series have the hardware in the back. Now the only problem is the over $1200 per wheel price tag.

Why would bolting them from behind make them heavier? do you not consider Fikse's to be "proper 3 piece"? The old fikse DP wheels were lighter than the BBS's.

Typically a 3 piece wheel is a center with flanged barrels on either side of it. A bolt passes through all three pieces and a nut pinches them together. This only requires thin flanges.

If you want to hide the bolts in the back and show nothing on the face your flanges now have to be much thicker, heavier and more sturdy because you must have enough material in the flange to tap blind holes into it in order to receive the bolts.

I see where your going but in the applications I have dealt with the total wieght of the fikse is no heavier than its bbs counter part and some of the Fikse grand am wheels flat out kill bbs on wieght. yes the flange is marginnally thicker but at the same time you eliminate half the washer's and the nuts.

Well basically Japan has a lot of these. It's a two piece WELDED wheel. you will find this in the Meister S1 2 Piece, AME Circlar RS or Spec R and many many others.

if you want more info please PM me with exactly the style of wheel you want so we can isolate the right wheel for you. Please indicate budget as well.

A Three piece wheel with Bolts is going to have less deflection from my understanding than a Welded wheel, fyi.
