Max Wheel Width on First Gen with Mariah Mode One
Hello all!
I have a 82 GSL First Gen with a Mariah Mode One Body kit on it, see below:
The car came with 15x8 +0ET and 15x10 +0ET Elipson Wheels with 265/50R15 and 295/50R15 tires..
I am in the process of swapping to 5lug FC TII Hubs, brakes etc.. but I did it an original way.. I kept the FB/SA Lower Control Arms and used a bigger ball joint from the JDM Mazda 626 GLX. So not too sure how that all affects my offset...
Also for the back, as it is a GSL with 4x110, i have decided to use 4x4.25 to 5x4.5 adapters that are 1.25" thick on either side on the rear (I am actually thinking of milling 1/8"-1/4" off the adapters to make them hub centric on either side).
From my calculations, I will be now running +32 wide wheel track in the rear on either side with the spacers, so I'll need to take that into account..
I am trying to figure out, based on all above what is the max wheel width I can fit front an back..
I was thinking of running 17"x 9" +0ET up front and 17"x 10" +20ET in the back..
this way my extra 32mm track will make my rear wheels 17"x10" -08ET offset..
I used one of those online offset calculators and here are my results..
Anyone an expert in wheel sizing and offsets etc?? One thing i didnt take into consideration was the increased track from the FC TII hubs etc.. I want a stanced flush look, but must be careful of the tire touching the fenders are they are fiberglass and will crack easily.
Thanks!
