I dunno, since they're using this system on their M2 Subaru, I'm kinda turned off to this. Besides, they don't have an E-brake system set up yet.

I think you should go for the Crooked Willow Valspeed brake kit. Now THAT's a set of BINDERS! No E-brake but who cares! Look at those huge rotors. Brake fade, what is that?? No such phenomenon with the Valspeeds. Maybe I could convince my sponsor to pick me up a set for the racing season (hee hee)

BTW, I thought you sold your car? Did you buy another FD?

Hey Manny

I think you should go for the Crooked Willow Valspeed brake kit.
But then why not go for what Mark runs on his own car... 8-piston Brembos!

http://www.geocities.com/valspeed/brakes.html

Anyway... I'm looking for feedback specifically on the M2 4-wheel brake setup as I'm looking to get that kit for my new ride (sold my rx7 ).

I deleted all the posts between M2's Brett Payne and Rx7 Forum members. His opinion on the M2 4-wheel brake kit is far too biased, and really doesn't answer the question originally posted by Azeem.

We'll need to wait for someone who actually bought the M2 4-wheel brake kit to post a valid and unbiased opinion.

Besides, Brett's posts bordered on product advertising, which is in violation of Rx7 Forum rules.

Regards,

Manny Lozano

FWIW... I did find a guy with the Subaru Kit (on the Subaru board)... and he LOVES it... said his WRX now out-brakes his 911 TT (at track events).

Manny, as someone who frequently looks through this section of the forum for info on new products, I would rather see you leave posts like the ones from M2's Brett and post your opinions on what is/isn't biased, or is/isn't valid, etc. When you just delete posts and state that it's because they're far too biased, it leaves us with *nothing* to reference. However, if you leave the posts and respond to them, then at least we can see what you are talking about.

For example, if Acme vendor claims that their brake kit weighs x lbs. per corner and stops in y feet from 60 mph, and you (or anyone else) suspects these are false or inflated claims, then it's a lot more helpful to see you directly challenge the claims as bogus. Then it's up to Acme (or someone who knows what they are talking about) to justify the claims.

Maybe the vendor's right or maybe you're right, but the truth is more likely to be exposed if it's all out in the open.

Thanks for the feedback. Your point is noted.

I interpret the Rx7 Forum rules in the strictest sense, so if M2 wants to advertise their products, they need to talk to Ryan and Jason to set up a bona fide ad agreement.

IMO, if an Rx7 Forum member wants more info on the M2 4-wheel brake kit, then s/he is free to contact M2 on her/his own accord.

Azeem's original post asked if any Rx7 Forum member has ACTUAL experience with the M2 4-wheel brake kit...the answer is apparently, "NO", since the only response came from Brett of M2.

The only noteworthy pieces of info that Brett passed along, minus his performance claims for the product, are--the 4-wheel brake kit now comes with emergency brake capability, with no additional increase in their asking price of ~$4000 and replacement rotors cost $220 each.

Regards,

Manny Lozano

I've just started working on a custom brake kit using Porsche calipers. We're trying to do it at an affordable price using some of the newer monobloc designs and not the big reds as they're one piece, more ridged, and lighter to boot. The Boxter S "red" monoblocs actually cost more than the big reds. If it weren't for the bit red's weight, I'd use them in a heartbeat. It'd be a front upgrade only and I'm not sure what the selling price would be at the moment. We're still checking on a few details as well but I should come in well below the price of the "AP" and "Movit" kits. The Movit kit features a steel hat as opposed to billet aluminum too. Even more weight with that kit.

I have had experince with these (M2's) kit it's fantastic on both the subie and the 7 it's well balanced and when you consider front and rear come for the price you get, it's not overly priced. $4k is alot for brakes, period, unless you plan on using them, they do come with the E-brake. As far as deleting posts goes since Jason carries their product in his store, they should have the right to come on this forum and answer any Q's about their product. As far as it being put on a subie goes tell me how if it can stop a 3100lb subie in 102ft, it wouldn't work well on a 2800lb RX7.I don't think any posts should have been deleted period, unless M2 or anyone else for that matter came on here and said hey we're having a sale on product X for Y amount you can reach me at blahblahblah. If I come on here asking about billy's turbo I would like to know that billy has the ability to come on here and answer or defend his product, not that he can't or won't be allowed to.

That Endless rotor is smallish. A small rotor kit is usually 12.6". Most big brake kits have 13" rotors. And the 6- to 8-piston kits utilize 14" rotors.

I like Endless one. Coz they are small and light weight. Size of a 4 pot but stopping power of a 6 pot. Also will fit smaller wheel size, Great for track and road course.

Although reduced unsprung weight is a benefit for the "going" part, we still need a good deal of swept area for the "stopping" part. And since braking is really just converting kinetic energy into heat (and sound), a good heat absorbing mass is desired. So methinks that particular Endless rotor may be a bit smaller than expected (prolly still very good on street usage).

Admitted, you just like their teal rotor hats and brake pad backing plates.

Actually I like them, coz JGTC cars use them. It will fit smaller size wheels.
