Question looking for matching front and rear big brake kit

I am looking for a big brake kit for 93 rx7 with 20b conversion and full stereo. The car will be fast enough and with the added weight will need front brakes for sure, however since the cars main purpose is for show, i am trying to find a good kit which i could get a matching rear brake kit. any leads would be appreciated!

M2 makes the only matching 4-wheel kit that I know of.

I've got some Wilwood calipers on the rear of my car that you could match with Wilwoods in the front. Details here:
http://www.maxcooper.com/rx7/how-to/...ear/index.html

You might be able to get some AP calipers that have similar-enough mounting details for the Widefoot brackets (perhaps with some slight mods) I used to go AP in the rear, and use an AP kit for the fronts.

There is a group buy organizing right now (see Spirit R thread in this section of the forum) for 2-piece rotors in the RS/RZ size that should work well with that rear setup.

I've seen custom Brembo installations at all four corners as well, but I don't know of any kits. You can get a Brembo front kit and do a little custom work for the rears. The setup I saw was on a Brembo engineer's car, so they might be able to help with the parts. They don't offer it as a kit, AFAIK, though, so perhaps not.

N-tech has an exception all Brembo set that was design by Brembo's (NA) Chief Engineer for his (and now my) RX-7. Also, Nick knows a thing or two about brakes, if you ever need follow-on support as well. N-Tech Engineering Brake Section

Yes, we offer two four wheel kits for the RX. Check out part numbers NT00143 and NT00144. These kits do look great, but the real reason for their existance is the way they stop. They also allow you to continue to use the stock master cylinder with a proper feeling brake pedal. We have sold several of these kits and have received nothing but glowing reviews of their performance and looks. Turn around time on these kits is short as well. We are very proud to offer these kits. Please feel free to give us a call with questions or to place an order.
For our knowledge of brakes, check out:

There is a lot of information devoted to our research on track as to how we make sure our brakes work there.

those Brembo kits look great. Lots of $$$ and no E-brake. Damn I need this car to pass inspection.

That's great that N-Tech has some rear-brake offerings now.

I haven't had a parking brake for quite a while now and haven't had any trouble with the car rolling (I just put it in gear when I park). I haven't tried to park on any steep grades, though.

That sucks that your local vehicle inspection includes a test of the parking brake. Having to deal with the SMOG laws here in CA is a major PITA, too. I sure wish we were free to do what the heck we want with our cars here in the U.S.!

What is the weight like in comparison to the stock setup. Is it possible to utilise rear calipers that will work with the parking brake. I guess most people will need this facility unless they have a pure track car.

The N-tech 4-wheel package looks great but at a STARTING price of $5500, I think I'll just stick with upgrading to the full 99+ RS/RZ brake setup...

By comparison, the M2 4-wheel setup costs $4000 with the option for a working emergency brake. Of course, with the N-tech kit, you might not have to wait 4-6 months to get it...

I think Brembo sells separate parking brake calipers, although I can't find them on their website and I don't know if they're a universal application or what. This is an example of a Movit rear kit with a parking brake caliper, just to show what I'm talking about.

Perhaps that type of parking brake could be adapted to the N-tech rear kit?

Good luck actually GETTING your M2 brake kit. I have a friend who's been waiting on a 4 wheel AP kit for six months. I also heard they've discontinued their "own brand" 4 wheel kit with E-brake.

We have had some orders come as a result of a reported long wait from them.
All reports back on our 4 wheel kits have been glowing...

I know Rotora came out with a four wheel kit as well for the FD. I saw it at IAS a few months back.

All two piece rotors. Price couldn't be that bad either. I haven't had a chance to look into the differences in rotors however. Just thought I'd mention that option. I have some friends that got an amazing deal on these brakes.

It's under product press releases. I know the kit can't retail for more than $4000.00. I'm sure we could get them for around $3200. I could be totally wrong cause I never asked what retail was on the rear kit but I think it would be around there.

http://rotora.com/cgi-local/SoftCart...html?E+scstore

It would be awesome if Nick could detail what the possible differences might be between the two kits for those of us brake knowledge handicapped.

Nick (NTech) this is of great interest to me at the moment. I already own a set of AP 6 pots (CP5570) for use up front, but I will need something better at the rear.

Will you be looking at doing a mounting bracket that will allow a parking brake to also be attached?

My FD is used on both road and track, so this part of the system is needed to pass out MOT (your vehicle inspection) laws.

well if any one is still reading this post. I made the decision and going totally custom with 14" front and 12.9" rear using all brembo parts. No more e-brake.
I am having custom hats and brackets made with floating rotors. If any one is interested i can get you the same setup. No room on the rear for e-brake without some serious modifications. Full kit front and rear would be around $5800

Why the hell would you pay $5800 for a four wheel custom kit when there's already several nice kits on the market for quite a bit less? Is this a track-car only? IMO, those brakes are way overkill if you have a street car that only sees occasional road racing duty. But hey, it's your money. Want to share some?

rear kit with parking brake

For those of you who want to keep the parking brake, I have connection with a Japanese company that makes one for the FD. You can keep the parking brake. The stock caliper bolts back on to serve just for parking brake purpose. You need to have at least 17" wheel to fit.

Content:

Two 2-piston Brembo calipers
Brake Pads
Brackets
Two 330mm-22mm two piece rotors with aluminum hats

Price: $3300

Sorry, the Japanese company will only sell it as a whole kit.
