Looking for advice, FC toe eliminators?

Hey, I wanted to ask for advice, I'm going to need to replace the struts soon because my T][ is at about 96k and the suspension is starting to feel a little creaky. I figure I might want to do some upgrading while I'm at it.

I'm mainly trying to build it into a nice quick daily driver, with maybe some light autocross/drivers school driving eventually. So far I've decided on the Racing Beat suspension package, Illumina HP's, and the Racing Beat front strut tower bar.

I can't decide whether I want to get the upright toe eliminators that disable the DTSS system. I like the idea of more feedback from the rear suspension, but I kind of like the "tossability" of the car as it is now, I don't want a twitchy "track only" feel. So I'd like to get some feedback on the toe eliminators from anyone who's used them. Do the make the car less predictable in oversteer? Do they really improve the feedback from the rear suspension that noticably?

TIA,

I would definitely suggest the eliminators. They will help predictability a lot. Before having them, when pushing the envelope it will throw you into a spin, like 180 deg. Therefore I hate the DTSS. It's for honda owners who need a simulated 4WS, j/k. I actually like it when cruising, but I go to extremes, so therefore have to eliminate the bottleneck. For daily driving you will be fine. You'll notice it on the street slightly, but on the track, hell yeah. No more dipping and throwing. Plus they are cheap, labor is what is costly. Need a hydraulic press.

Have you purchased the suspension yet? Where are you getting it and how much are you paying? If getting it from the RX7store, that's cool. If not, let me know and I'll see what I can do for you. I'm flying out to Manhattan in a week and half, are you near there?

Good luck, Rishie

ARD T2,

Thanks for the information. I will probably go for them then, I like to toss the car around a little when I find a nice open road (rare here in the NJ suburbs, I'm in traffic hell here), so predictability & feedback help. It's always kind of distracting when I'm expecting normal oversteer and it kind of just rotates around me instead.

I'll probably get the stuff through JR's Rotary Performance, where it's going to be put in. He's a Racing Beat dealer, so I'd feel kinda like a jerk if I got it through somebody else.

Theoretically I'm about 1/2 hour from Manhattan, but counting in the traffic it's usually two or three times that

I had 'em on a '91 N/A and now have 'em on my '90 TII and they are definitely a worthwhile upgrade. I thought the car was "twitchy" when it had DTTS. Now I get better, more predictable feedback at limit. If you're going to skimp on rubber don't bother. If you get some SO-2's, P-Zeros or Michelin Sports with the rest of your suspension goods - hang on because the lateral acceleration will fight the grin on your face...

Cool thanks for the response.

After ARD T2's comments and yours, I'm pretty sure I'm going to get them. I don't have much experience driving the car at 10/10ths so far, and I'd rather not discover any nasty suprises by wrapping my car around a tree

Actually I'm pretty happy with the RE730's, they're pretty grippy & predictable in the dry, and they're amazing in the rain. The car is my daily driver so I need it to be driveable in crappy weather.

hang on because the lateral acceleration will fight the grin on your face...
I am looking forward to it

I have a set in stock if you need them. Let me know. But I'm going to NYC til Monday, leaving tommorrow. Not much money to save anyways, you could just get them locally or from RB.

Thanks, Rishie
