Well, if you bought these already, you in for a nice surprise. I have a friend that runs these tires on his 350Z and has just won an AutoX championship running against guys on race compound DOTs.
Good choice.

Don't confuse the MX to the Supra. Thay are NOT the same tire and NOT in the same league.
I would compare the Supra to a plastic lawnmower wheel. Exaggeration yes, but consider that a Toyo T1s managed to get 14% higher peak lateral acceleration rates when compared to the Supra 712 during a somewhat controlled test environment with a Gtech (done by a friend here locally).
After switching from Kumho Supras to Toyo T1s (the guy with the GTech test) went from nearly the bottom of the AutoX chart to being in the top third.

Why are you worried about tire life?
You want performance and long life???
Tire performance is almost always inversely proportional to tire life.
I'd be happy to get 10k to 15k out of a "performance tire".
If you want more tire life, something has to give...
On top of that, you're talking cheap...
The Michelin Pilot's probably have some of the highest treadwear ratings (220?) with good performance - you willing to pay $200 for one of these?
Sheez, we're talking about Kumho's around $100 per...

My MX's lasted ~10k miles, ~10 track events, several autocrosses, several trips to drag strip, and plenty of agressive street driving. I was beginning to wonder if they would ever wear out. They were getting a little hard toward the end, but nothing to get bent about.
In that time I never had to rebalance, grossly overheated them several times, just abused them in gerneral and never had an issue.
Final analysis: cheap, sticky and durable... if Kumho would just stiffen the damn widewall up and square off the shoulders they'd be perfect.

I've tried both the Supra and the MXs and the MXs are far better tires than the Supra. The Supra have very low traction and are prone to go into a slid much much sooner that the MXs.
I have some used low mileage MXs sitting in my storage, two in 235/45-17 and two 225/40-17s. The 235s have about 2 miles on them and the 225 got about 120 miles.
If anyone is interested, please email me: naachau@hotmail.com.
90.00 each.
