Koni's, Eibach's and bushing questions
(please keep this in the 3rd gen section so fellow 3rd gen owners can read please)
hey guys... forgive me if this is an old subject, but searching turned up a myriad of information, most of them not what I was looking for. Anyways, my situation is that I still have the original shocks and bushing on my 7. I know, I know... I should have changed them a LONG time ago. But I am going to now, I think they're pretty much shot.
So what I am looking for is pretty much a stock replacement for shocks and springs... what do you guys think of this?

I was thinking the Koni one (adjustable)... the springs, I was thinking Eibach for pretty much a slightly lowered ride... (I have stock rims). Again, I don't want anything drastic... just as close to stock as possible. Will these work? If not, what do you guys suggest and where to get them? For all of this at Tire Rack, I am looking at ~880 bucks... of course, low cost is always a plus.
Another thing... I know I read a long time ago on here, about replacing some "bushings" to get rid of that "steering numbness"... I can't recall what that was about, but either way, I figured if I'm going to replace that much with the suspension, I might as well do some bushings too while I'm in there. Could someone please provide some part #'s and which bushings to replace? I believe it was the rear...
Oh, and I won't be doing the replacement... I'll probably have my mechanic do that...
thanks in advance for all your help.

The Koni shocks with eibach springs is a good combination if you want a close to stock ride height Guy.
I don't know about your bushing question though, cuz mine are still stock. with 97k miles.

I have this exact setup...although on my stupid part I didn't realize it until someone pointed it out
Anyway, my FD handles great.
Here are some pics:
Here you can see how far this setup brought the front fender-to-wheel gap down:

Hey Gene... lol, you thought I was Guy??? I'm the new owner remember?
Yeah, that's what I figured on the shocks and springs... I'll wait till others chime in too to get more opinions. As far as the bushings, maybe Rich or Mahjik can chime in later on. Or was it Dale maybe? Dang... I can't remember who it was who talked about this before... oh well, I'll be patient.
thanks!

So the Koni/Eibach set up is what you have too? Awesome... I figured Tire Rack would know what they're doing
Did you get yours from there too? How about your bushings? Do you still have the originals? How many miles on your clock?
/\ I purchased my FD with this setup already on it. The bushings, as far as I know, are still the originals because I only have 28k original miles on the clock. There are plenty of guys here though that can put you in the right direction on the bushings. Wish I could do more for ya but all I can do is post pics. I'm not really up to par on my suspension knowledge yet, but I'm working on it.

Do you mean the upper shock mounts instead of bushings? I replaced mine and it also helped firm up the car.
