FD alignment specs
FD alignment specs
Can anyone experienced in custom alignments on fd's give me some advice? I would like the car to oversteer easily upon proper weight transfer and gradually come back. Basiclly I want smooth break away with no snap back. Tire wear is of no concern and "streetability" is not a factor either.
This is what I have been thinking based off experience from other rwd chasis'
Front:
Camber -2
toe 1/16th toe out
caster +7.5???
Rear:
camber -1
toe 0
Im thinking the fd shouldnt need any more than -2 front camber to get decent grip. The slight toe out should make induced oversteer a little quicker. The caster im just guessing on, any input? The rear should be ok with 0 toe right? All the specs are more conservative than my last setup but Id like to start that way rather than go too far with any settings.

I don't know about setting it up for drifting which is what i'm assuming you want to do, but I don't think you'll be able to get that much caster. The most I've heard of is 6 ish, my shop was only able to get 5.9 in my setup.
Heres some GOOD advice, thanks mahjik for posting this in another thread.

I know it doesnt mention drift but it does give you a good base to start from and thats the best way to do it.

I'm running -1.3 front, -1.2 rear, 6 caster, 1/16 toe in front, 0 toe rear and it is very balanced on the track. No understeer whatsoever, oversteer can be induced by the throttle if you want to but not too easily. Oh, and i have 16" stock wheels and tires. Tire wear is also very acceptable for daily driving.
