Koni Yellow Question

I have the Koni Yellow Adjustables with Eibach springs already installed on my 93 R1. For those that don't know I recently just bought a set of ASA AR1s: 17x8 on front with 235/45s mounted and 17x9 on rear with 265/40s mounted. My FD looks like it's sitting to high in the rear. So tonight I put it up on jackstands and noticed that the rears are set on the top ring. I think I should put it on the lowest ring. My questions: Can I do this while the shocks and springs are still on the car or do I have to remove everything? Can I just use a spring compressor to relieve pressure and then adjust the perch without having to take everything apart?

Brad

This is how it looks right now

Nope, you have to remove the assembly to do it.

Well I decided to go ahead and try it with them on the car. I went to Advanced Autoparts and rented a Strut Spring Compressor. I compressed the spring on the outside which allowed the spring to free itself from the seat and made it to where I could use my hands to move the spring up and down pretty easy. I then took a flathead screwdriver and freed the perch ring and set it on the bottom ring line. This worked fine and set my ride height in the rear about a full inch lower. I'll post pics later on as right now I'm tired and enjoying the cool inside air .

Naw, I just sometimes get so determined that I want things to be a certain way that even if I don't know what I'm doing I'll at least try.

Brad, I used to have the same set up and I had to run the front on a higher setting and the back all the way down to get a close to even height. I had real , real bad rubbing at mini Talledega with that set up, pulled the fender lips down and wore holes throught the fender liners... Thank God I did not wear into the wiring harness... I now run JIC coilovers.. Even a Lower ride height and no rubbing!!!

Mike, everything has been good so far. I drove around for a while and I've got no rubbing. Even hit a few tight twisties pretty hard over at Bankhead National Forest in Moulton. The ride height is even all the way around. The top of all 4 tires is barely visible at all. I like the way it turned out.

No kidding. I actually thought I had made a stupid mistake and put one of the 235/45 17x8s on the rear when I took the before shot. I was like, "Man that can't be the right tire size." But the perch was just on the highest setting. Now it's on the lowest
