Has anyone tried the differences in these brands? I just want a little feed back before I go out and get a set. I am trying to look for a good street set up but also all around. I am also trying to find a coilover setup that is rebound and compression adjustable if anyone know of one that is a reasonable price.

 

I was just at the SEMA show for a week and was able to check out the jic line. it was quite impressive and i intend to carry it along with TEIN and TANABE. I am also interested in anyone's experience with the jic. For the price they seem reasonable, incorporating pillow ball mounts front and rear, w/ adjustable camber up front, for like $1450.00 or so retail.

i am getting a set for the gt-x fc.

From a construction standpoint, JIC is a good coilover, however, I was more impressed w/ the quality of the Endless/Zeal coilovers. There are tiny things which I am not overly pleased about the JIC coilovers...such as the welds and the slight gold overspray. I've seen both products up close so I can say that for sure. However, there is a significant price difference between the two. The JIC is obviously more affordable.

I'm not a big fan of TEIN products.

I cannot tell you from a performance standpoint as I did not test the products out.

 

The overspray does not matter to me, but the quality of the welds do. Can you be a little more explicit, and do you know if the internals are the same as the ZEIL.

I would gave two ups for TEIN suspension I think they are one of the best and it is use in racing circuit in Japan and they are also very popular here.

In reference to the welds, the welds are not as clean as say a set of Cusco, HKS, or Endless coilovers. I wish I had pics, but unfortunately I do not. I'll see what I can do regarding getting pics.

RX7 Magazine, issue 11, has what appears to be a comprehensive testing of the various availible shocks in Japan, from Ohlins SPL's, Aragostas, SARD, Apexi, TEIN, to the new Blitz SACH shocks and countless others. I can't read it and I haven't had time to run over and have it translated at a friends house just yet, but I'll report back. The Tein's, according to a Japanese FD3S owner (and friend) are not considered to be that good and are not that popular in Japan. That may change with the new RS double-adjustables, but I don't think they can compete with the Aragosta or Ohlins and are about the same price. They rate everything by stars (1-5) for several categories. I'll try and decipher some of this and get back to the forum on it.
If anyone out there can translate and has issue 11, it'd be nice to know the criteria and which they considered best. FYI, the Mazdaspeed shocks don't look like the fared very well.
