any ideas? i really want coilovers, but if anybody has a better idea please tell..

If it's not a track car then you wont really need coliovers, and shocks and struts will do fine. But if you're set on coilovers then Stance would be your best bet.

 

for a budget, a good setup is the eibach pro kit springs and either the AGX shocks, or the koni yellows.

the eibach pro kit was developed with coil overs, so its pretty close to optimal ride height wise, and for moderate grip tires.

I agree with the Eibach pro and with either ajustable shocks from Koni or KYB.

I have the pro kit and KYB AGX shocks for about a year and half already and they are great. Compared to coilovers they are not as stiff, but seriously, do you want a stiff ride on a non track car, it will shake everything in your car. The Eibach Pro kit and the KYB Agx arent as stiff, but they are stiff enough to inspire confident, yet soft enough to drive everyday, especially since you can adjust the shocks.

But if you are really desperate for coil overs for a budget, Ground Control have some great budget ones.

they are basically just the coil sleeves fitted onto the shocks (aftermarket or stock) of a car to make it practically a coil over.
The sleeves are where you make adjustments to raise or lower the vehicles height by turning the spring seat.

 

Whats the cheapest suspension that will lower my car alot! like slam it!! but still have it ride good?.. like maybe something like those ground control, but lowering it more.
so defanatly not cuting the springs..

 

You are going to find it hard to find suspensions that will drop the car more then 1.5 inches or so. A slam car never gives a good ride. The only way to do it is probably doing some custom work to it. Best way to slam a car is with airbags.

 

oh i don't want it on the ground! haha i still wana drive it, and i'm defanatly not about to sacrefice my handleing for looks.. so you would say those ground control coilovers are my best bet? and can i use my stock struts untill i can aford others?
but it would blow my struts wouldnt it?

 

I have Ground Controls and would not recommend them if you want the car to be comfortable. The problem with this type of "coilover" is that you increase spring preload when lowering the car. The spring rate used with Ground Controls make a HUGE difference too. For my purposes, it is OK. For a lot of street driving, I would recommend getting a set of springs/shocks which will be roughly the same price.

If you search for FC picture threads a lot of guys post up what they have there. From memory, the Tanabe GF210 springs give the FC a nice drop and still ride well for cheap, $230 list:


That is 1.5" drop, which looks pretty low, yet streetable. Don't forget to get some good shocks. If you use the stock ones, they will be bouncy. I use adjustable KYB AGX's and like them. You can get them for around $500 shipped. A lot of guys go with Tokico blues (a cheaper street oriented shock) and call it good though. I think you can get Tokicos for about $350 all the way around.

I'm in the process of buying either coilovers/shocks&springs. I can't make up my mind at all. It's going to be used for just summer.
