I found a DEAL! Will they fit?

Ok my friend who owns an Evo 8 just got some new wheels for his car so he said he would sell me his stock wheels with ok tires for $250 total. I think it's a good deal, but I don't know crap about wheels. So is it a good deal? The wheels are in good to excellent condition.

Here's the size:
215/50R17(says that on tire)
What I want to put them on:
1988 RX-7 AE Has the Ebaich Pro-Kit springs with some kyb agx struts.
Will these rub or not fit at all?
He said he THINKS that they are 30 offset. I don't know.
Remeber they are STOCK Evo 8 rims. WILL THEY FIT?

evo8 is 5x114.3

assuming you have a 5lug FC it will mount.

by the 215 tire size im guessing its 17x8 +30.

don't know anything about FCs, so no clue if that would have fitment issues on a FC. but its a pretty conservative size for your typical FR import from the 80s.

IIRC the stock EVO 8 rims are 17x8, with a 235/45/17 tire stock. This is slightly to tall and may rub due to the width. With the 215/50/17 this is also too tall, but it's not too bad and it's narrow enough not to rub. If it is a 30 offset they should fit no problem.

he's saying the stock tire size is 235/45. slightly too tall and slightly too wide. fitment = uncertain.

HOWEVER, you said the tires are 215/50. i.e. he has non-stock sized tires mounted on stock rims. these will *most likely* fit.

Too tall meaning the speedomoeter will be slightly wrong, but they should fit as long as the offset is around 30.

Eh the tires are crap...A little tread, but not much. Anyone think the evo rims are worth $250?

exactly. Its not rocket science. Its much easier and less confusing than reading everyones posts about tires being too tall, offset being wrong and so on. Just try them on your car, go for a little drive and if they work, they work.

Keeping my wheels. These would be for track use. If they aren't forged though I don't want em.

Ok, I looked at the Mitsubishi website and the MR wheels are forged, the rest aren't. Cast wheels are fine for track use, Enkei makes some really good wheels and these should be no exception. I'd expect them to be quite light and very strong. You'd be hard pressed to find a better deal anywhere else. You'll have to pay over $1000 for forged wheels in that size I'd expect.
