ok I put on some of my old evo wheel's on the rear with toyos ra1 255-40-75 so by what I'm seeing I can run the same evo wheel's in the front but with some 235 maybe 245 as far as springs what so I run I can get some rsr race springs that are 1.8 in front and 2.0 in rear or the eibach pro in kit for a bit more 0.8f 0.8r what do guy's think I should run ?

 

If you're serious about performance then neither, get coilovers. Either way you'll be needing to get new shocks and struts, as the old ones are just that, old, and aren't up to the task of handling the higher spring rates. Coilovers can also give you more clearance for wider wheels and tires in front.

225 is generally considered to be the max safe width in front, but if you've got coilovers and rolled fenders, then a 245 shouldn't be too much of a problem with the right offset.

 

I'm not ready for coilovers yet but I have some good kyb on there I'm not doing coilovers till have more thing's on there so I can get my car core balance so I'm just looking for something good for every day and touge at night

 

Well you could do ground control coil over sleeves. ~400 to go with those KYB's (AGX's right?) and you can have a choice of rates and lenghts with greater future expandability.

 

if you wanna keep it on the cheap go for mustang wheels (pre-05). you can run up to 245F and 275R, with a little fender rolling.

 

IF memory serves Correct..225/45/17 on front and 245/40/17 on rear without Spacers.On 17" wheels with the Stock 40mm offset...I hope that is right,as I TOO am going to put 17's on my car,but Only for the sake of Tire Rotation,I am sticking to One Size.(no front one size ,and the rear another size!).

 

275's on a 17x8 is a pretty big stretch. I checked a few tire MFR's reccomendations and they all listed 9" as the minimum rim width. AFAIK a 245/40/17 is the widest size anyone reccomends on a 17x8 in an FC appropriate diameter. I'm sure it can be done, but it won't feel very good and you'll be loosing part of the advantage of wider tires from the sidewalls pulling the tread up at the sides.

 

oops^ i meant with 8" front and 9" rear.
with 8's i'd just stick with 225-245 all around

 

have evo 8 wheels so there 8.5 all around that's why I'm doing 235/40/17 in the front and 255/40/17 in back I got the backs on and I'm punting on the fronts sat I put the 255 in front just to see how much it would hit and it almost made it so on that I'm hopping theres 235 well work on the front and I'm running toyos ra1s very good tiers I running these on my evo for track so hope all these works out

 

i have 235 45 17 in front and 255 40 17 rear. It rubbed int he front when i drove really hard. So im going to roll my fenders. Im not really slammed either.

 

Going to a 235/40/17 in front will help with that.

 

yeah, it barely hit. I got my car almost a year ago, and my friend had already put the rims and tires on, I am almost at the point where I need new front tires

 

i have 255/35/18 in the back and 235/35/18 in the front on lowering springs.

 

heres a pic of it with my s2k not a good one I well get a good one soon and I think next time I'm going 245 in front
