How to prevent rusting on new rotors?

How to prevent rusting on new rotors?

What can i coat the drum part of my new rotors with to prevent rusting?

Mask the rotors and paint the hub area with high temp engine paint. I used silver on mine and it looks good.

The best is to of course get rotors that are plated, they won't rust.

it's not really a problem other than lookswise... it's not like your rotor is rusting through and is rusted on the part where the pad grabs is it?

it just looks nasty. not on the face of the rotor. i will try painting it.

You can get zinc plated rotors that won't rust.......after I destroy my current rotors on Motorsport Ranch, I plan on getting the plated ones cryo-treated.

Always. I have been rebuilding the rest of the suspension lately and have new race tires going on next week. I will badger Eric some more and get him to let me come next time he takes the Evo out.

Sweetness. I want to try and get as much seat time as possible when I get back.......I've tracked her once w/the p/s removed and I'm not sure I like it......

Personally I feel no need to remove the power steering. There's plenty of feedback even at low speed autox events. I think too many people think if they are not suffering they are not racing: remove a/c, remove ps, terribly notchy short shifters, overly stiff springs, etc.

If the car has to beat the driver over the head so he knows what it is doing, the driver isn't paying good enough attention.
