Getting Narrower Front Tires
Getting Narrower Front Tires
Right now I'm running 255 all around but have some fitment issues so moving to a smaller tire. Currently running BFG Comp2 which I really like. Should I just stick with those are get something alil stickier. Car is my daily and honestly I don't do anything with it besides take on ramps at 60mph.
Moving down to 235mm. Budget is 120ish per tire.

go with a 235 and I would run the same tires front and rear in terms of make/model/mfgr.
When you go with different tires the compound stickiness is different and the car will behave differently.
your car should actually handle better with the skinnier tires as the tire tread will be stretched better to the wheel and have more tread on the ground.

I'd probably go 245/40-17. A little wider but quite a bit shorter than 235/45-17, I would bet no more likely to rub. BFG Sport Comp2 should be fine, Tire Rack test looks very good for your usage. More track-oriented tires won't necessarily have more grip in real-world usage anyway.
my rubbing is mostly cause of width not height. idk if 245 will allow the room I want. I'm running 20mm spacers to clear the coils. Maybe with a 5mm spacer I can go 245.

I've had both 235/45 and 245/40 tires. The taller tires rubbed, as you figured out from the diameters. But, my car is lowered. Offsets make a difference too. I like the 245/40's in the front. And my car seems to like staggered tires too.
