Is This Flat Tire Spray Permanent?

Well I got a flat on the way to my dads house, but I didn't know it was flat until I got there, it felt like I lost power steering, not fully though, and it went a bit to the right. It was so slight I was trying to determine if it was just me, or the car was actually acting up. So when I got out and checked the tire, it was a little bit flat, not too bad though, so its not a major hole or anything. So I have this car kit thing my dad got me with some stuff thats supposed to spray inside the tire and seal the holes. I was just wondering if the stuff will be permanent and not need new tires, or i'll have to go out and buy some new tires?

Reason I want to try and get these going for as long as possible is because I want to get FD rims and tires once I do all my performance mods, so I dont want to spend $$ on new tires only to not even use them.

sometimes the spray stuff and throw off the balance of your tire. you should get it fixed properly.

whether or not fix-a-flat or something similar will work really depends on how big the hole is. On one tire, I used it, it worked fine, no more problems. Another time, I had hit a curb really hard and it put a pretty decent sized hole in the tire. Fix-a-flat actually made the hole smaller, but not enough to seal it. It made the ride home, but it still needed air every week or so.

Just remember, most tire places will fix a tire for like 8 bucks, which is only slightly more than a big can of fixaflat, and it does a much better job.

a lot of the canned stuff i've seen is only good for like 100 km or so, enuff to get you to a garage to fix it properly. oh yeah, if you do use it, make sure you tell the tire guy...it's messy as hell busting a tire off the rim with that stuff in it.

It says on the back of the can that it is only a temporary solution and you should go to a tire repair shop immediatly after you use the can. Simply put I wouldn't go over 55 mph with a tire like that.

as said before, it depends on the size of the puncture and where it is...most nails and screws can be removed and plugged unless it's in the sidewall. how big is the puncture? bring it to a local tire place, if it's a normal small hole I bet it costs you 20 bux to fix and balance the spray is not permanent...it can throw the balance off and if left in there for a long time can take FOREVER to clean out the next time the tire is off the rim.
