FITMENT?! 315 & 285 (thnx)
FITMENT?! 315 & 285 (thnx)
Greetings,
It seems like there is ample information on wheel/tire fitments up to ~285's. I have searched, read, and PM'd a couple people concerning the exact large width setup that works on the FD. Assuming that I have JIC flta2 coilovers, the toe links, trailing arms, and rolled fenders, will this setup fit
18X11 +50mm with 315/30/18
18X10 +53mm with 285/35/18
I'm looking for someone who has actually run the tire sizes above.
Any information you can offer would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers and thank you,
Nate

285/30/18 front and 305/30/18 rear is the conscensus.
I run 285/30/18's all the way around on 18x10.5" CCW's. I'm running trimmed fenders up front (cut inner lip off) and rolled rear fenders. The front fenders are important for clearance or you will pull them out if they contact a tire. 285's all around provides a nice balance on the car and great feedback IMO.
You need coilovers up front to run 285/30/18's.... out back to run a 305 you need the tubular tailing arms and maybe even the toe links. I have both.
Plan on replacing the bushings as past 80K miles or so they are going to start dying.

GNX7,
What offset are you running, and what (if any) spare room do you have between the inside of the rim and the M2 arms/links? Also, did you shim/offset the front trailing arm rose joints towards the inside of the car?
Thank you for the info, it is much appreciated!

Thanks for the input guys.
It looks like the 315's only fit on a 10" rim setup w/+48 offset. I will need the meats with my setup so it looks like I am forced into fender flares to run the 11" widths. The Burnout flares are subtle enough to justify it IMHO. I'm tempted by 315's all the way around, but I don't know if that much road feel will be obnoxious on the street, prabably so....

I've run 18x10 +52 in front of FD with 285/30/18 several times. CCW and Kinesis have both used this fitment for track. So I think the front will be fine. But the rear will definitely have trailing link issues.
