what is the general concensus about wheels,,, i was thinkin tryin 18" in rear & and 17" possible 8.5 to 9" in the rear and 7" to 8" in the front for the width, and will the tires rub the wheel if i drop the car with some dressup massaters tein lowering springs?

 

For an FD, anything below 8inch width would be too skinny.. unless you are trying to save gas or something..

My recommended size for 275 to 350RWHP FD's would be 17x8.5 front and 17x9 rear. Get some good tires.. S03 or T01s.. Otherwise, Stocks are very good wheels... they are pretty lite for stockers.

18s are for looks and would want to go little wider to compensate the contact patch.

 

There's been several posts in the last few weeks on this topic, not to mention the very large and informative posts in the archive section.

I strongly suggest before you do anything that you take the time to learn some wheel basics. There's a whole tech section at www.tirerack.com just for this purpose. The fact that you don't even know that the stock wheels are 8-wide indicates that you are either a) too lazy to learn anything about your own car, or b) you don't have an FD.
