problem with installing tein ha's

i started with the drivers front. when i tightened the top nut down, the top of the shock sticks up about 1 1/2 inches. its to high for my hood to close. is this normal? is there something i did wrong? the coilovers came assembled. i just installed them as they were. also they did not come with any installation instructions. i looked on tein's website and they have all the instruction except for the ha's. so if someone knows where i can find one or knows what i did wrong. it would be extremly appreciated. thanks!

I have the HAs and the instructions and I installed them on my car last year.

Are you using the factory top spring mount or the TEIN pillow ball mounts?

If you are using the factory top mount, you need to use the factory spacers (modify them with a round file).

Anyhow, I took some pics of the important pages of my instructions with my trusty camera and Photochopped them together for you. Enjoy!

The rest of the pages are 99% legal disclaimers. The only other things it says in there that are important are not to go past 16 clicks on the damper and not to use an impact wrench when installing or removing any parts.
