FD torque steer type issue when accelerating

Hi All

Wonder if anyone has had this issue in the past essentially since my new coilover install I now suffer from torque steer (best way to describe it) when accelerating i.e car will move to the left and once off the power will dart back to the right as well as car suffering some stability issues at speed.

The car has been wheel aligned twice and all parameters are fine including camber, caster and toe so I know it's not alignment

Has someone experienced this before...

could it be

1. tyres...they have tread depth but are quite old and have gone hard and I may have mixed them around when reinstalling them (they are not directional though)

2. Could it be worn diff bushes that could do this? The car has started to clunk but only between 1st to 2nd change not on takeoff or braking.

3. Could it be some other bearing issue?

Cheers

did you check your coilover settings? does both tires have similar tread depth? is ur diff leaking any fluids?

I know it seems simple, but check your tire pressure. One rear tire a few pounds lower than the other will do this exact thing.

will be rechecking pressure infact i may swap them out to my other set of tyres just wanted to see if anyone had this effect happen where it wasn't a tyre issue.

cheers

If alignment front and rear are correct, and front and rear tires are equal in thread depth and pressure; then corner balancing may be way off.

thanks for all the suggestions above

I've gone over the car again and

1. alignment is fine

2. tyre pressure is fine

3. tread on tyres is fine

4. suspension setting is fine

So I jacked up the back of the car and looked for play in the rear wheels. Seems there is some play in the left rear wheel (driver's side for LHD cars) so I took the wheel off and tried to locate the movement couldn't really see anything even when trying with pry bar although a can feel slight movement when putting pressure left to right on the hub. I think I may change bushes progressively to try and determine where it's coming from. I'll replace the toe link bushes first then replaced the upper and lower control arm outer bushes as I think it's might be coming from either of these to points. The only movement I could see when using the pry bar was a side to side movement in the upper outer control arm bush but i assume that is fine with the way the bush is designed?

It's hard to check the bushings like that because the forces on them are very different during driving conditions. All you can do is look for cracks or any damage and if the bushing is has rips or tears then it needs to be replaced.
