NJ FD Suspension, Brake, Differential overhaul

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum. If you want to check out my LS1/T56 FD see intro post. https://www.rx7club.com/introduce-yo...ewbie-1138206/

Looking to do a full engine, suspension, brake and differential refresh. Stock FD suspension and bushings are in bad shape. Lots of noises and clanking under hard acceleration or shifting. Below shows what I already purchased. Would love member input or feedback on missing parts, suggestions or maybe a few tips.

Parts currently in my possession or ordered:
-Used Ohlins coilovers with Cuscos aluminum top hats (thanks Moderu!)
-Timken front wheel bearing hud assembly x2
-Timken rear wheel bearings x2
-Centric front rotors
-Hawk street pads front and rear
-Delphi tie rod ends x2
-Dorman front upper control arms x2
-Mevotech front lower control arms x2
-SuperPro poly bushing kit
-Banzai rear diff brace
-DOT 4 brake fluid
-TechnaFit stainless steel brake lines

Stuff I need but have not purchased or found yet:
-Saw a few members noticed cracking inside factory FD diff covers. Not sure about mine yet as it's still together in the car. Any benefits to upgrading to RX8 cover other than being newer with a few taller fins?
-Differential gear oil - Not sure what's best to use with FD's Torsen type LSD?

Plan:
1. Remove brakes and suspension.
2. Remove bushings and install new SuperPro poly bushings
3. Paint rear diff housing, brake calipers and reused suspension parts with POR15
4. Reinstall suspension and Ohlins coilovers
5. Install rear diff brace (might try to beef this Banzi brace up a little. Possibly buy Sikky brace as it seems MUCH beefier for a V8 with a cam and my driving style). Any thoughts or input?
6. Set ride hight and take to shop for alignment. Is -2.5 front and -1.5 rear camber settings too aggressive??

Hope above is sufficient for aggressive street driving with an occasional drag race, roll race or track day.

Thanks for following my journey. Anthony

Discovered realmazdaparts.com and they list factory axel seals P043-27-238A @ $7.52ea. So I ordered 2 axel seals plus windshield pillar trim clips. Could not find differential input seal though

I did find input seal's on RockAuto just not sure if factory FD diffs have 7" or 8" ring gears (see below). Does anyone know which size FD's have?

I’d go ahead and replace the pillow ball bushings too if you are doing the super pros.

Was kinda hoping rear pillow ball bushings were included in SuperPro kit. RealMazdaparts.com lists FD01-26-220 insulators and FD01-28-460 bushings (see below).

Below lists bushings SuperFlow includes with kit. Thinking maybe SPF2675K could be the rear toe control arm bushing? If not what about SPF2680K?

SPF2674K - DIFFERENTIAL TO CROSS MEMBER BUSHING
SPF2675K - REAR TOE CONTROL ARM - INNER BUSHING
SPF2677K - REAR TRAILING ARM - FRONT TO CROSS MEMBER BUSHING
SPF2678K - REAR UCA - INNER BUSHING
SPF2680K - REAR SHOCK DAMPER, LOWER BUSHING: OEM SHOCK ONLY
SPF2821K - FRONT UCA - INNER FRONT BUSHING
SPF2822K - FRONT LCA - INNER FRONT BUSHING
SPF2823K - FRONT LCA - INNER REAR BUSHING
SPF2676K - OUTER BUSHING
SPF2370K - STEERING RACK AND PINION MOUNT BUSHING - POWER STEERING

Pillow ball and LCA inner bushing are not part of the SuperPro kit.

Thanks for that info ZE Power MX6! My buddy used to own a turbo KLZE swapped MX6. Thing was so much fun and ran hard until they day it was sold!

No idea why OEM Mazda bushings are so expensive. Need assistance with below if you don't mind chiming in

-Want to confirm you meant rear LCA inners not included with SuperPro kits? Found MazdaSpeed's F128-28-460, hoping they would be a good direct bolt-in upgrade? If not, I'll go with OEM FD01-28-460's.

-Lastly, say I bought TCS toe arms which include 4new pillow ball bushings/bearings. At that point would I only need 4 pillow ***** (FD01-26-220) out back? If so I'd definitely add 8 new rubber dust seals (FD01-26-250) to hopefully prolong having to spend this kind of money again.

Thanks for any input!

Pillow ***** are not bushings. They are spherical joints.

Turbo KL is fun, I had a turbo DE for a few years, went back to NA KL when I got my 1st FD.

There are only 6 pillow ***** total, 2 in the LCA and 1 in the UCA. They are in the diagram you post earlier, box #4 and #6. I recommend getting the replacement from J-Auto, you can get the aftermarket one he carry or go OEM, and he carry the dust seal too.

The LCA inner bushing you listed are the correct one, the Mazda Comp one will be a little harder. OEM toe link and trailing arm has bushings, and I think it’s part of the SuperPro kit, aftermarket ones are just metal rod with heim joints. The R1 roller I just acquired came with a brand new set of Pettit toe link and trailing arm, and brand new Ohlins DFV. I’ll be selling them soon, if you are interested in the toe links and trailing arms let me know.

Ordered 12 pillow seals from realmazdaparts.com. 6 pillow ball bushings from J-Auto. And 2 MazdaSpeed rear LCA inners from MazdaTrix. Crazy expensive for simple bushings, not sure why.

PM'd you about the links.

Yeah the bushings and pillow ball are expensive, but you really only have to do them once and they should last a good while. You'll need a press and a lot of different sockets, I had to buy some random sockets from Autozone when I did mine, especially for the rear LCA inner bushing.

Received MazdaSpeed LCA inner bushings, MX5 Nardi Torino steering wheel and MX5 airbag today. Hoping to have remaining suspension parts soon. Want to start disassembly early/mid September. Hoping to have car back on road with full suspension/brake refresh by October the latest to take advantage of cooler temperatures. Still waiting on J-Auto pillow ball bushing set, pillow seals, axel seals and pinion seal.

Most engine and fueling parts have already arrived. Picked ported heads up from machinist with dual valve springs and titanium retainers installed. They look brand new.

Finally got an open spot at my buddies shop. Transporting car and parts there tonight. Super excited! Likely going to start a new build thread to share progress.
