When you placed the front kit into the 'cart', there was a link on the order page to select the color. It's possilble to place the order without selecting an option, which I almost did. Just give them a call and they can modify your order. I had to call in to add some ATE Super Blue (and requested stocking of the Gold version as well)

"All RB calipers have dust seals.".... RB.

let's have more feedback on the color. do you like the candy apple metallic or do you prefer basic red.

unfortunately my wife's stock wheels are on their way to a happy buyer so i won't be able to give further feedback. the RB440 caliper clears my wheels by more than half an inch between the wheel spokes and the outboard caliper edge. my front is 18 X 9.5 NTO3+M 40 offset.

Yes, it does not match your shocks!

I'd be in for a solid, normal red. Not a fan of the metallic candy apple color scheme.

Not trying to nit-pick, but there is a difference between fluid seals and dust seals. The calipers pictured don't have dust seals which are boots that ride loosely on the piston keeping grime out of the space between the piston and cylinder bore just above the fluid seal.

The AP line of road calipers, the Stoptechs, and every set of Brembos on road cars (inc. the 8-pot variety on Lambos, Ferraris, etc.) have dust seals. The lack of them means a) more frequent rebuilds and b) more frequent bleeding.

This won't be an issue for the racers who are rebuilding frequently and bleeding each track day. But for road cars, it would have been nicer with the seals.

I'm still getting a set. But bummed about the seals.

Howard, does that caliper paint "look" much thinner than their standard powdercoat as shown on the RB website.... is this an illusion or might it be less insulative (better at heat disipating)?.....

I ordered "red" and I was expecting "red" not candy apple metallic

If we can't get "red" then I'd rather have basic black.

I'm sure it was just to gauge reaction (which is apparently one sided at the moment, with the exception of ccanepa50, who votes for lime green ). I don't see this 'special' color anywhere on their website.

It would be bizarre if they didn't offer a basic, primary color red, so nobody get upset.

BTW, I searched the thread but couldn't find anything; can we get speed bleeders with these?

RB's OEM size two piece after 4 1/2 hours of track time and about 600 miles of street driving with EBC yellows. The rings are .004 in thinner then new. ( the width of a human hair is about .003)

I think there should be a poll regarding the color. I'm unsure as to which red, RBs candy apple or a more traditional painted VR shade. Right now I'm leaning toward a VR since that was what I always had in mind but maybe people would be impressed by the sparkly red calipers, that is the whole point of painting them.

Impress the lowrider crowd maybe... A candy apple red caliper would be fine I guess, if it was to match a car that was painted candy apple red as well. Otherwise, it just looks oddly out of place.

My car is black, and I don't think I would mind so much. Just wish they would have said it was going to be sparkly red instead of tradional red.

If I had a choice between candy red or VR, I would of picked VR. But I guess I'll just wait and see how it looks in person..

'Normal' red calipers on a black FD looks absolutely sick. I'm kinda jealous......my Vintage Red FD has red recaros, and now might have red calipers too. I think I'm lookin' at too much red

I'd like to hear more about this from Warren at Racing Brake. Hopefully he comes back and comments. I wonder if all of their calipers are like that.

Ha.

I saw those picks and actually wished that I had orderd red.

Personally I want blue.... and I dind't get "Red" because it seems everyone has "VR red" type calipers. Not that black is unique perse, but I chose it because I didn't want that red.

Honestly, I'd be willing to pay extra for a custom color on my caliper (the blue version of that candy red would be GREAT IMO).... and would be tempted to have this candy red over the black that I chose.

talked to RB...

the pistons have a second groove machined into them and have a dust seal.

color is anodised so it will be resistant to brake fluid, scratches etc. based on input i believe but cannot gty that red will be red.
