FD Air Suspension?

So I've been looking into upgrading my suspension lately and I started out looking Ohlins, Tein, and Fortune. Was dead set going to go with Ohlins DFV, then I saw the that Tein has a system called the edfc and that kinda tipped the scale over to Tein. But Fortune Auto has the aircup suspension which could really save my bumper and lip.

But now I've just seen guy with a 93 FD with what appears to be Airlift Performance struts and bags and it looks amazing cause it's not stupid low and it doesn't have the stupid camber to make it look even more stupid.

So I looked into it and I've found out that TWR makes a kit for FD's and I wanted to if anyone on the forums has any experience with air suspension on FD's. Thanks.

The ones I was looking at always ended up being in the 3-5K range for basic to the advanced systems, but haven't seen any feedback for handling as they are usually used on show cars and cars that don't tend to track.

Yea they look pretty pricey. But I don't plan to time attack my car lol I just want to save my bumper and lip from taking a beating all the time.

Feel like I saw somewhere of a kind of air cushion for the front only to help with that but cannot remember where.

Well fortune auto makes air cup suspension for the FD but only for the front and it only adds 2"

I'm contemplating buying fortune auto's air lift upgrade for my current fa 500 series coilovers. But i have some concerns as to where the compressor/air tank should be mounted in the car...?

People just mount it in the floor of the hatch/trunk or what I've seen recently is people mounting them to the rear tower brace.

Seems like the hatch/trunk floor is the way to go. Mounting it to the rear tower brace sounds dangerous in case of an accident...

What's the clearance between ground and your front bumper? Mine is like ~4 inches and i feel like two extra inches would be plenty to comfortably access most driveways etc.

I honestly don't know but if I'm gonna spend upwards on 4k on suspension I atleast want more that 2 inches and all corners on air, with a management system. Like the e-level or H3 systems.

I have KSport air struts and Airlift 3H on my car...cant give feedback on the ride yet since my car isn't running, but this will give you some ideas as far as mounting solutions and such. I fully plan on doing some track days with my car...as long as you set everything up correctly there should be no handling issues.

So does the 3H system have active management like Accuair does where it will adjust automatically while driving or is it just hight and pressure?

Indeed it does, it has everything Accuair has in a bit updated system (3H was released a bit after Accuairs most recent system)
