All this in two weeks and it's getting that much closer
Installed:
chassis enginering top gun 4 link
Strange coilovers with springs
10 point s@w race cars cage
28x10.5 et drags on a 15x10 prostars (7 inches of backspacing)
The rear end is a mustang 8.8 at stock width

I thought this was going to be a noob question. I was going to say the Ford 8.8 is a solid rear axle and the FD is a multi-link and it would take a lot of serious work to get it done... BUT it looks like you've already done that.
It looks awesome. Good work.

Why are there so many of you guys with the holier than thou attitude? if somone does a 20b swap does that make it not a rx7 again? I do have two camaro's and bought this piece of **** wrecked and fixed it so It had a second chance. Offense is taken and this keeper stock bullshit. If I bought a mustang and put a ls1 in it would be the same thing, who cares as long as it goes fast and looks cool.

Allright, to clairify i respect the work being done. I very much understand the time and effort that goes into projects like this. Im the last guy to ever leave anything stock. But to me an RX7 is (especially an FD) about rotaries and handling... of which your making a V8 drag car...

What about the numerous guys on this board with rotary powered drag cars?
There are quite a few mustang's with ls1's running around right now and I am begining to wonder why I did not build one of those as the parts are plentiful. I chose a rx7 for the looks and thats about it I am tired of building v8 s-10s and such and wanted another different car to build. I love going to cruises and showing of my projects and I like that everyone asks me what it is and whats it got.
The rotory was dead and the car smashed so what better canidate to rebuild into one fast **** than this one.
Why does it matter if it has a rotary or piston engine in it? How many guys have never even looked under the hood of the car they are driving or could give two poos what it is if it runs. The last bonus is that I can sell all those great rotary parts to you guys for a excellent price to help you out as I no longer need them.
But thanks for your kind words on the work done.

I could care less about the LS-1 in the car....I just don't like gutting the racecar suspension for a straightline only setup. But hey, it's your car. I wouldn't have posted at all except for your silly comment:

Let me know if you need any parts for that rear as I have a ton of it for sale right now.
9's would be a great goal for me as I have never gone that fast How fast have you gone?

Regardless, the setup looks badass. It's going to be a beast.

I went this route to eliminate wheel hop in my combo. The newer cobra's ditch the indepentdent for a solid 8.8 all the time. I just don't really care much about handling.
Thanks for the postive comments.
