Is it exclusively a track vehicle? or is it daily driven as well? Are you competing in a class or just club events?

Thanks, Rishie

What kind of budget do you have for suspension/coilovers? We're getting there. hehe.

You do really well with some koni yellows and Ground Control coilovers with some custom springrates. If you're going to go with some crazy spring rates you can buy a set of cheap blown koni yellows and have them revalved for the spring rates.

FYI, the Tein RA and RE series are being discontinued. I don't see them in stock at Tein USA so I doubt they can order them.

What kind of spring rates do you want?

So about 10kg and 8kg. That's pretty close to standard for all the FC coils out there. If you want something better than the RA and probably same price range I'd suggest the Silkroad RMA8's, simply because they have independent preload and ride height adjustments.

NO NEED FOR HELPER SPRINGS
NO LOSS OF SUSPENSION STROKE UPON LOWERING

Let me know if you're interested. The Silks come standard in 8kg and 6kg, I can have them made for 10/8 kg.

Looking around $1600.00 or so. Depends on where they are shipping.

Just like Tein RA they are monotube as well, similar in construction to the TEIN RE actually.

i'm also looking fot some coilovers for my FC, to make my upcoming 8,5 and 9,5 wheels fit better... im using the car for daily driving and sometimes some foolin around, so not for track use.

is there a real difference between all different brands of types?

i have seen some Tein models, but dont know the difference between superstreet and flex coils...
are there any others on the market for a fairly good price?

Keep in mind that by going to coilovers on the FC, Macpherson strut suspension, will typically make you lose additional space rather than gain it. Just as a note for you guys.

There is a difference between brands. Many of the differences are internal regarding valving and quality of components as well as materials for those components. Another thing to look at is the material of the "damper casing" and its coating. Then look at the weld quality and construction of the lower bracket. Is it a universal sheath with stamped steel welded around it, or is it a full machined piece? Lastly the bushings in either or both the uppermount or the lower bracket. Forgot to mention SPRING QUALITY as a very important component.

Things to look for aside from the notes above:

Twin tube vs. Monotube
Single perch vs Twin perch/Indpendent preload and ride height
Warranty and Services offered in the states
Racing Background of the companies, i.e. Tein and Zeal

Superstreet is a single perch system, while the Flex is a twin perch system. Basic is a superstreet but no damping adjustments.

I suggested Silkroads because they are inexpensive and quite the value. However, for someone who is racing all the time it may not be the best actually. They have limited services here in the states. If it were for our race car in which I would possibly need custom valving each season then you would choose either Koni or ZEAL. Zeal is the only integrated coilover manufacturer I know of here in the states that offers custom valving services, to your needs. Not just change spring rates, but also valving. You can choose from a variety of uppermounts, rigid bushing rear to pillowball etc... You have different spring options to increase stroke and reduce weight, etc...

But the price is greater unfortunately. Depends what you value the most.
