FB Upgrading my Suspension

Im going to be upgrading my suspension here and havent really heard anything about RB 1st gen suspension package. Its not a bad price at all for coil overs and swaybars. But i dont know if anyone here has had experience with them. I think im going to get them with illuminas but again not entirely sure. Any help or insight in suspension in general would help

Its an 84 GS fb with a few mods

Racing beat makes some nice stuff but its been the same stuff forever. Do a little digging and you'll find more developed parts. Start with www.gforceengineering.net and buy his set-up book. Its the best money you can spend before you shell out cash for parts. You will understand what problems the stock suspension has and how the problems can be worked around or fixed.

When you are finished reading the book you will understand why a Racing Beat front bar is the size of your arm and there is no rear bar. Hint: the rear binds up bad stock and even worse when you add urethane bushings. The bound up rear end is like having one foot in a bucket, the huge front bar is like putting your other foot in a bucket so you can run straight. Sure it works, but there is a better way...

You should hang out in the first gen section more often!

Billy Waits at ReSpeed has a number of different suspension packages for FBs and many forum members are running his products. He is a stand-up guy and absolutely the most trustworthy person I've ever worked with on my 4 year FB project. If you tell him what your goals are, he will design a suspension system that will fit your needs and your budget.

^^^^ Exactly what he said!!!

Billy assisted me when I had all sorts of questions. I was running Racing Beat equipment, and wasn't happy with the performance (or lack thereof) that it was providing. He held my hand through the entire build process, advising me along the way. What I asked him for was a car that could compete well in autocrosses, but could still be driven to work on a daily basis.

What I got was a car that is totally kicking *** in CSP (a very tough class to compete in) and is a joy to drive to work. Billy got me something even better than I had asked for.

Stop over in the 1st gen section. There are a number of threads going around concerning this topic.
