FD rear suspension squeek

Hi all,
I've just replaced 6 pillowballs, installed RB sway bar along with their mounts & lower control arm bushings on each side. I'm getting a pretty pronounced squeek at the passenger side rear & a slight squeek at the drivers side.

The reason for replacing the pillowballs were because of clunking noises. I no longer have clunks & the rear suspension feels tight. But now, I have squeeks! There were squeeks before, but not as pronounced.

It sounds like its coming from the upper shock mount or the shock itself. When the shocks are set to soft, squeeks are more pronounced, but when set to the hardest setting, squeeks are less pronounced.

Just to make sure that I've eliminated other possibilities, I've done a lot of troubleshooting the past few days. I've disconnected the sway bar links, but still makes noise.

I've lubed the RP toe links.

I've torqued all removed suspension nuts/bolts to mfg specs while the suspension is loaded.

Pillow ***** were greased before installing new dust caps.

Lower control arm bushings doesn't need to be lubed according to the shop manual. But I did put a very light film of grease on all bolts.

My GAB shocks/struts have about 70k on them. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same GAB struts, and they make squeaking sounds all the time. About the same mileage too I believe. I figured it was because of the old bushings, but I'm pretty sure on my car that they're the struts.

1) Did you grease the sway bar bushings?

2) I don't know if this is true, but I have been told that the stock FD struts had a small sliver of teflon or something that slid over the top shock mount before installing in the car.

On a side note, I may have the exact same squeak. I swear its coming from the passenger shock tower. I have yet to convince my fiance to curl up in the trunk and locate the squeak.

There is a thin plastic gasket that goes between the stock OEM upper shock mount and the body/frame. If you haven't had your upper shock mounts off (the large rubber piece that bolts to the body w/3 studs and sits between the body and the top of the spring) then it should still be there. I ordered new ones when I replaced my mounts but the old gasket pieces were in perfect shape.

You might check the torque on those three studs, pop the interior shock tower covers off to access them.
