Evo brembo are direct bolt on for FD3S
ok so i've been going through every kind of set up i could think of, and i've had a break through
i took the mitsubishi evolution brembo calipers because they are are light, 4 piston, and they accept a very large diameter rotor
then i used Infiniti G37s rotors (355mm or 14inches) because they are large enough and they are the same bolt pattern ***you can use the evo rotors too, they will work perfectly fine***
turns out the evo calipers are a DIRECT BOLT ON with the G37s rotors!!!!
the only things to take into account is that you might need a spacer for your wheel set up, my rims require a 5mm to fit
and you will need to modify the dust shield to fit the rotor
i havent tried on the rears yet, but i wouldnt be suprised if they bolted on too
here are some pics of the kit mocked up but not bolted up...i have the calipers held on with zip ties lol

Looking for finished pictures - i.e. how did you bolt the caliper up, aren't both the caliper and the spindle holes, i.e. not tapped? What years G37 - I assume all, are there different sizes in the G37 brakes?

dude thats basically it...its so simple its stupid lol
theres only a couple things that actually take a bit of work:
take care of the bolt holes...the evo caliper holes are threaded, and the FDs mounting holes are threaded...so you'll have to drill out and re-thread the holes of the caliper
and you'll have to cut out the top and bottom flap of the dust shield and about a quarter of an inch off the corners cus it hits the caliper
and thats about it...

the bolt issue...check the last post
and its any g37s that has the factory big brake kit...i just ordered the rotors off ebay cus they are cheap and i dint know if it would work or not...but ye any g37s factory big brake kit rotors
you can also get the stop tech slotted g37s rotors or the ones from stillen
What are the diameters of the Brembo pistons, and total fluid volume of the caliper? Do you have total pad contact with the G37 rotor? Also, why did you not just use the EVO rotor, it should have the same bolt pattern also, correct? Or does it have to do with the rotor hat offset?

i dont know wut the total fluid volume is...
there is total contact on the g37 rotor
the g37 rotor is what allows for total pad contact...the evo rotor is 350mm and the g37s rotor is 355 mm...because of the mounting holes it pushes the caliper back a bit farther than the way the caliper fits on the evo, so the bigger rotor makes up for the difference and allows for complete contact
i think the evo rotor will work fine too, but i dont think you will have 100% pad contact, probably like 97% pad contact

I like it - EVO calipers usually sell anywhere from a very low $200 a pair to around $800-1000 a set,(of 4 mind you) - plus a set of G37 rotors - anywhere from mid $200's new aftermarket ones. Looks like a decent upgrade - I agree, the bias needs to be investigated to see how it compares to the Stoptech upgrades or any of the RZ rear brakes, or the Racing Brake rears.
Has the potential to be a very inexpensive upgrade route - however, 18" rims are mandatory for the 14" brake rotor, and the unknown balance issues - that is a significant shift forward in bias just from the 14" rotor.

yup...once i have everything installed i'll let you know how everything runs...btw the rears are 1.75inch pistons
its 2 pistons on the front and rear of the rotor
its 2 pistons on the front and rear of the rotor
Man you changed your mind so much when deciding on a brake system. You went from evo brakes to porche brakes to vette brakes back to evo brakes. Glad you finally decided on one! (it appears) let us know how they work out in the end. Did you ever do your stopping test with the stock brakes? Oh yeah and weigh the rotors and calipers separately. I'm curious how they compare in weight to the stock system.

i'm gona do the stopping test tomorrow just before i install everything
...now to find an open road...
Unless there's a different spec over there, seems to be an error on the standard Evo rotor size, 320mm over here on the later ones. The latest one with the 18" wheels has bigger ones...not sure of the size, maybe that's up around 350?? There is a car over here incorporating a 2 piece replacement Evo VII to IX rotor... and using the mazda caliper, but only 6mm in difference over the RS/RZ size.
