Enkei PF01

Wheels arrived.
I ordered 17" x 8.5" (front) and 18" x 9.5 (rear)
They actually measure 18.5" x 9.375" and 19.5" x 10.375
I didn't expect the specified size to be that far off from the measured size. The real shock is how wide the rear looks. But based on the fact that the 16" oems measure ~17" diameter
and the 17" am wheels on my Vert measure ~18" diameter, I assume the PF01s are the correct size.

Yep, nominal wheel width is always measured across the tire bead and the rule of thumb is an aluminum wheel is 1" wider actual width than rim size width.
I also found my Enkei PF01 were a little narrower than the usual aluminum wheel.
As you probably found you can use even stock lug nuts with Enkei's included long reach thin wall socket, but if your lug pockets are anything like my 18x10.5 +38 PF01 its a pain not to scrape the paint.
I prefer a small steel open end lug nut like Muteki "short open" that also comes with a long thin socket that you can put another deep well socket on.

The wheels will definitely bring the FD into the 'teens.

Just where do you think I got the idea from? I ordered exactly what you posted because I like the look you got. I hope you still are liking the ride quality.

Ha, sweet! Ride quality is better on these with Michelin Pilot Super Sports than Z1 StarSpecs in 255/40-17 front 265/40-17 rear on my TE37s. Pretty damn smooove, especially since I got the Ohlins <3

I was thinking about going for a smaller tread in front. I don't need any more grip and I don't want the car to start wandering, hunting, or overworking the front shocks.

That said, 235/40-17 or 235/45-17 would be fine as well, but I wouldn't go 225/45.
What size rears? I went with 275/35-18.
Depends on what you like/want/need, but personally I try to go with a tire size that has its "measuring rim" width the same as my wheels. I don't like the tires to look either stretched or pooched, and like to have a little forgiveness for curbs.

Ordered and mounted my tires.
Sumitomo HTR ZIII
I chose 265/35/18 rear the entire package is 48.5 lbs. (10 lbs. heavier).
245/40/17 front the entire package is 44.5 lbs. (6 lbs. heavier.)
This weight surprises me, thats a lot of weight, but then they are 1 and 1.5 inches wider and I am comparing worn out to new rubber.
But being this much heavier, I wouldn't be surprised if newer shocks - better tuned to this heft - would help the car.
Looks wise, it looks like a brand new car. Although heavier, the wheels look much lighter. I think it also looks newer because the OEM wheels are kinda cruddy. When I recondition them, I will paint them the same bright silver as the Enkeis.

So, I think I will install a modern day curb feeler...

Looks good. I am shopping for a set of 235/45-17 in Matte Black.

Montego Blue. I'm not sure if the black paint will hold up to an accidental kerbing... not a habit, but just in case. Also, I like to take my car to the track – I think the PF01 are lighter than the Work Emotion CR Ultimates that I wanted before.

I think that on a silver or gray car, you'd have to look close to see the curbing on a wheel. I would also think it would easily show on black.. But then I have no experience in that area.

I noticed on the Enkei website that the PF01 wheel has a 75 center bore but the FD has 67.1 bore... do I need an adapter to mount these wheels?

They should be able to supply them with appropriate rings so that they are hubcentric on the FD. I ordered mine through Tire Rack and they came with rings fitted to fit the FD hubs. You could run them without rings and rely on the lugs to center the wheel, but IMO no reason not to have them

Thanks! I'll make sure to get the rings if I order them.

I would run the 18x10.5 +47 PF01 wheel size with 265/35/18 or 285/30/18 tires. Not sure if they work with the stock springs, but will work with coilovers who have 2.5" diameter springs.
