EBC yellow stuff vs Carbotech XP8
From what I understand both these pads are the link between track day pads and street pads. I couldnt find any decent reviews on both so I need some opinions from people who have used either of these pads.
Which pad would work best when it comes to...
- a non-daily car which sees the track 5-6times a year? and is driven twice a week (rotor friendly)
- Fade resistant
- Wear
-Brake dust (not important but I just want to know)
Note: I know these are not the best TRACK only pads but the tracks I visit are small tracks and my car runs 10psi at the track so I dont need as much stopping power as other extreme pads. But my axxis altimates didnt last more than 2 laps on a small track so I need something better.

I run the Carbotech's on my M3. They don't have a high coefficient of friction so the "bite" isn't harsh. My street pads (Axxis Ultimates) have a harsher bite. However, they take the brake heat and handled the track just fine. Some of the track guys like the harsher bit of brake pads so they are sometimes turned off of the Carbotech's.
They don't dust any more or less than other track pads, but the good thing is that the dust does not corrode your wheels or damage paint. They are rotor friendly when cold so they can be used on the street, but they will squeal.

I've found the EBC yellow to be a good dual purpose pad. They do not have the initial bite of something like the AXXIS Ultimates, but their dust might as well be clear. Also, they withstand heat better than the Ultimates. Both times at the track I was speed limited by heat issues, though, so I do not have good data as to their ultimate fade resistance.
On the street they are quiet and do not squeal.
I have no experience with the Carbotechs personally, but I've only ever heard they are picky about the bed-in, especially at the track.

Thnx for the responses
I did some more research on honda/acura forums on the carbotechs and pretty much concluded that I might as well get the xp10 as just track day pads or the AX6 for street/track with has about a ~1200 dgree heat operation temp versus the ultimate's 900. AX6 is still not "recommended for street use though due to noise and dust.
Now I need to find more info on the yellow stuff "R". I mainly want to know the heat range these pads work in. I did find this decent write up though and seems promising.

FYI, I don't suggest using Axxis Ultimates for the track. Those are my street pads for my M3, as I indicated above; the track pads are Carbotech. The XP8's are fine for casual track duty using street tires. If you plan to run r-compound or slicks, the XP10's would be a better fit.
On the RX7, I use N-Tech Engineering Lapping Day pads on the front with Bonez Stage I's on the rear.

BTW I am quite happy with them, ran them once at Laguna, once at Thunderhill and had no issues. I'm in the intermediate run group with street tires.

I got my EBC Yellows from autoaccessoriesgarage.com . It was easy to navigate, they were the cheapest around, and I was rather impressed with the speed of delivery, too.
racepages.com also sells them.
I haven't been able to find any temperature ratings of the yellows either, except anecdotal evidence that getting them to fade is difficult.
Another option, Ferrodo DS3000 or DS2500 from HERE
