I've searched a bunch on here and other places, but most posts are older and I've read that new formula EBC Green Stuffs aren't as good as the old.

So, I'm looking for some brake pads for street use. They might see the occasional auto-x, but the primary use will be for the street. I can't tell what pads are on the car now (came with it), but they have a bit of an odd feel/grip so I thought I'd pick up some new pads and flush the fluid. Are the new Green Stuff pads as dusty and noisy as some people claim? A local has a set, new, at a good price, but if they're going to be problematic I'll spend the extra to buy something I won't have to worry about.

Ive been using green stuff since 2012 on my cars. 3 of which see street, aggressive street and auto x. when cold, they bite alright. More than enough to instill confidence and when warmed at the track have an alright temp range where they are warmed up. When they do get into their zone they squeal which is fine with me because race car. Otherwise on the street they are quiet. Fade is achievable if you ride the brakes pretty hard but there's only been a few occasions where that's been a problem for me and im no expert driver. As far as dust levels for street driving, if you wash your car at regular intervals, it wont bother you and you wont notice. For the price, the usability and the brand, I would say get them if street driving is going be the primary function. If more aggressive driving is whats going to be your thing then I would suggest the yellow or red.

Great, that's what I'm looking for. The car is only fair-weather use, and gets washed more often it needs to because my garage dusts more than I ever thought a garage could.

My experience isn't recent, but I used to really like the EBC pads back in the day. Green stuff were a great upgrade for the street. While you're in there make sure you really inspect all the springs and clips and clean them up with a wire brush and brake cleaner. I believe Napa can still get you the replacement kit with shims, clips, etc. These cars are old enough at this point, and you'd be surprised by the poor condition of some of that stuff

for the street I have tried a few pads. My opinion for high speed street use goes a little like this.

Hawk HPS I tried and those pads are garbage, they deserve to be put on a civic maybe, but I hated these pads.

EBC yellow stuff are ok pads but they fade at high speed use, high speed being over 100mph repeated braking.

I migrated to EBC bluestuff and they are actually damn good. low noise, same dusting or less than yellowstuff. They work well everywhere in terms of speed and need just a little warming up, they make no noise so far and seem very rotor friendly. They also don't cost very much. I suggest for a street car to go with Bluestuff NDX. The old bluestuff compound was junk, the new compound is damn good and I like the feel of them as well.

Note: The bluestuff pads are a little harder compound and need some aggressive break in. you drive easy for a few hundred miles and do a little break in from 60-20mph or so, then you go all out on these SOB's and get them smoking/smelling them. let them cool down and might have to repeat one more time. then they are fully bedded and work GREAT.

It took me 5 years to find a pad that I actually like and they didn't cost too much. I also think endless pads are great but they do cost a lot of $$$.
