i have a set of Toyo Proxes 215/40/17 on my fd and i hate them. they have horrible traction in the rain, and a "zero" reliability rating (in my book).

i plan on trying out the yokohama Parada Spec-2's very soon. the toyo's were on my car when i got it.

that is the first time I have ever heard a negative review on the t1-s. I was/am actually thinking about purchasing them. I heard they are awesome in the rain and dry. Do a search on internet on the reviews most of them are fairly awesome, and no I didn't take the reviews that were on a tire store website :P

7 Heaven, are you referring to the T1S or the FZ4. I'm also surprised with this review. I have heard nothing but good things about it.

I think the only thing to compare would be the Bridgestone S-03.

What exactly have you guys not liked about the T1S. Please be sure that you are reviewing the correct model.

Thanks, Rishie

I have them on my fd, but only had them on for about a month, wicked wet/dry performance leagues better than kumho 712's

I haven't tried bridgestone s03/s02, but the potenza re010's are by far the next best thing to R compound, but wear out a lil quick, and quite expensive

only gripes I have are that they are a little on the skinny side compared to other brands.....

toyo makes many "proxes" tires. I doubt your's are the t1-s' if you don't like them. I ordered a set over a month ago and the store finaly got them in today... I'll have them soon 225/50/16 t1-s'.

Seriously, why are you undersizing your tires. No wonder the thing feels like ****.

You should run a 225/45 at least. Sounds like you got some FWD fitment knock-offs. ANy good salesman would have reccommended a proper fitment.

TOYO T1-S is one of the best tires on the market right now. I would say they are the best tire for the money.

I have Kuhmo 712's on my car now, 265/35/18's in rear and 255/35/18's in front (have only had them for a few weeks) they are OK, but not at grippy as I had hoped.

Rishie is shipping me a set of Toyo T1's 255/35/18's all around, I'll put them on as soon as I get them and give a first impression review in about a week.

Manny, you'll be happy to know that Nocab is running the SSR Integral A2's in the 18,9 front and rear +45. Did not realize that the A2 looks so good. Can't wait til Nocab posts pics. Woohoo!!!!

Manny,

If they get to me in time, I'll "wear" them to the meet on the 23rd in Indy. Rishie says they ship today so...

Damn, I'm gonna have a hard time deciding between the Integrals & the Borbets Type TD's I have on there now...

Dude, go with the SSR's as you'll save so much weight and gain so much performance. I think it's time to sell the Borbet's. Gotta love the Germans, but they just love making heavy stuff.

Rishie

They'll be driven to FEDEX around 8:30PM PST. 3 day air to your door, so hopefully Monday. Not sure if weekends count as days. I know you'll have trouble falling asleep so buy yourself a 6 pack and pass out. It's on me, just send me the bill. hehe.

Rishie,
Can you PM me the tracking number(s) so I can stay up all night and watch arrive/scan/depart all the way from CA to OH? Thanks!

I knew the Borbet's were going to be heavy, but I just HAD to have them, they are just to the edge of being BLING, BLING ... and that liiiiiiiiippppp...gotta love it!

I'm very happy with my SSR Integral A2s in 9 x 17 with 45 mm offsets with 255/40-17 Yokohama AVS Intermediates. No rubbing, and the wheels/tires look great!

I'm glad others are recognizing what a great performance wheel (and great looks too), the SSR Integral A2 is

The 255/35-18 will be a perfect fit, and you should have no rubbing at all!

See you next Saturday with the SSRs!

The Toyo T1-S seems to be a very good tire. There was some kind of tire test at Willow Springs a while back, and they were second to the Bridgestone S-03 in lap times. The T1-S is narrow for their nominal sizes, but they are also pretty light.

I've got S-03s on my car right now, and I have a set of T1-S to throw on when the S-03s wear out. I don't expect the T1-S to be better, but I do think they should be pretty darn good tires form what I have seen and read.

Yeah, the Toyo's are incredibly lightweight. The S-03's are a bit heavier.

I've had Toyo T1-S's for almost two years now and really like them. Much better than the oem Goodyears that were on there. I just recently ordered a new pair of 245/45/16 for the rear. Your problem is that your tires are way too skinny. The stock 225/50/16 isn't very meaty, why on earth would you go narrower? Also, I don't drive my fd in the rain but the couple of times I got caught, the toyos did pretty well in the wet.
