do supra rims fit on the fd3s

i need to know for temp. purposes. im told by the body shop that the wheels wont fit because of the bolt pattern. i know of rx 7 rims going on supras. why wouldnt the supra rims fit on the rx7. or do they?

I've never done it, but I talked to two people that have used the 9.5" rears. The bolt pattern is the same, but you need to have the centerbore increases to 67.1mm to fit on the FD.

Maxcooper is right. I tryed my friend's stock and aftermarket rim on my fd, it didn't fit. The center hole on the surpa's rims are to small, but the lug pattern is the same.

I had heard they fit, I guess that person forgot to mention the center hole issue.

The bolt pattern is the same, but I don't think they fit.

I hope you are talking about aftermarket supra rims, because the stock ones are *** ugly.

what will happen if you put supra rims on an rx7 without increasing the bore?

They won't go on all the way, so all kind of bad stuff is possible. They break your lugs, don't go on straight, ruin the Supra wheels, etc. Don't put them on unless you get the center bore increased.

The FD Rx7's centerbore is larger than the Mark IV Supra's wheel centerbore. This is why the FD wheels will fit on a Supra hub but NOT vice versa! You'll need to have the Supra wheel's centerbore machined to a slightly larger diameter, otherwise the Supra wheel will not fit properly on your FD Rx7's hubs.

IMO, I wouldn't fool with Supra rims. They're heavier anyhow.

Just buy a set of aftermarket wheels that are designed to fit your FD Rx7 properly.

my buddy has a TT supra. he is actually going to give me his rims when he gets aftermarket wheels. 17x8 and 17x9 1/2 seems lovely to me. then i can put the 275's in the rear for super traction. cheap/free is good enough for a few extra pounds.
