Do the 4 Piston calipers have a return spring?

Was reading up on some 4 piston calipers and all these stages they went through in making them. The "latest" or best 4 piston caliper had an internal return spring on each piston to help with returning the piston to proper place when not in use. This helped with pistons not "binding up" making uneven wear of the pads and to help with warping of the rotors.
