Coilovers for the FC? What are they

Looking into getting an FC and wanted to see what coilover options there were...iv seen the tein ss's and thats about it.

Also what offsets do you guys run? Im coming from the mr2 world, and they seem to be very similiar.

thanks

I have JIC FLTA2's, very stiff, but I like them. Some people have complained about the longevity of coilovers, especially JICs, mine is ok so far...*knock on wood* Put on about 7K miles, over 2 yrs (don't drive it that much), but have driven them over some really lousy roads.

I heard Zeal is a great brand, so is Cusco Zero 2's. Also HKS hypermax.

There are a lot of options ranging from under a grand to a few thousand. Tein, Cusco, JIC, Zeal, GP Sports, and Silkroad just off the top of my head. I ran the Zeal V6 for a year, about 15K miles and 6 or 7 track days. I drove my car pretty hard and never had any problems with my coilovers.

I have some Mazdaspeed Coilovers. Might be interested in selling them. Shoot me a PM if you're wanting more info and pictures.

KTS makes coilovers for the FC for $1100:

http://www.splparts.com/Parts/Univer...on/default.htm

Seems like a lot of S13 and S14 guys run them, they're supposed to be great for the price. Inverted monotube, 15 way adjustable, and come with camber plates. And if you blow a shock, they can ship you all new ones for $550, the cost of overhauling some of the other brands. I'm thinking of giving them a shot.

BUT the spring rates are kinda high (9/7) and the pistons aren't huge (38mm, compared to the Memoryfabs 46mm)

My buddy has a set of KTS coilovers on his SR S14 and they are very, very stiff even on soft shock settings. They look to be good quality as well. I wonder if their suspension for the FC is just as good or not. I mean they are primarily a Nissan based company.

I'm saving up some cash for the new Tein Super Drift coilovers. Have seen, felt, and heard excellent things about the Flex systems, so I figured it would be worth it for next years drifting events. Just rode in an S2k with the JIC FLTA2's and it was ridiculously responsive on the softest of settings. Enjoy whatever you can afford.

flex's are very soft, no point in wasting your money for bottom rung ****.

Koni yellows w/adjustable perches are unbeatable when you tune the spring rates. Before making a decision, track someone down who has the combo you want and ride in the car. Nothing like spending $1200 on suspension you don't want/like.
