Can you switch shocks between 1st and 2nd gens?

Are the rear shocks on the first and second gen rx7s the same? If not, are FC rear shocks interchangable with any other cars shocks?

nope, 1st gen rear suspension is totally different to the IRS setup used on the 2nd gen.

Alright, are there any other cars that have the same rear shocks as the FC?
Thanks

Is it possible to custom make other shocks work on an FC? (think sort of along the lines of what it required to get Konis to work for FCs)

most suspension manfacturers will custom build struts if you ask them too ... it costs a lot though

Because FC shocks are unnessisarly expensive and something higher performance would be nice.

Any other ideas if this would be possible? (I was thinking maybe shocks intended for a truck...)

Yeah, I was hoping to get some koni's for another car because most others are about half the price as the ones for fc's....its pretty gay.
