bumpsteer

hey guys need a bit of help. I threw on some 17X9.5 front and back yesterday on stock suspension. Getting a lot of wandering and bumpsteer. Took the rims off and threw the stock rims on with no issues. I know a lot of you guys are running pretty wide tires and rims, do you guys experience the same thing or is it something normal with wider rims? any one have any solutions to fix the problem? maybe a bumpsteer kit? Thanks in advance

This shouldn't have anything to do with bumpsteer. It has to be something with either the wheels or the tires. Are the tires used?

you're feeling scrub radius change from running lower offset wheels. with positive scrub (lower offset than stock), when one wheel hits an irregularity in the road, it'll pull to the outside. its something you just gotta deal with when you run wider wheels/tires.

So basically what you are saying is that most of the guys who r running the lower offset because high offset wide rims are so hard to find are all having the same steering issue and they r just fine with it?? Its not really fun when ur car wants to go to the opposite lane as the one that you are trying to go to....is there nothing that these guys can do to compensate??

To help us help you...

What are the offsets of the wheels?
What are the tires, and are they new or used? I have seen tires alone affect this. Tire pressure?

How is the suspension? Good shocks? Tight bushings, suspension, etc all around?
Alignment?
Some issues may have been masked before that are more noticable now.

And no, we aren't happy with misbehaving suspensions.
I run 17 x 8.5" / 10" without the issues you describe.
