Brake Rotors Siezed on Hub
Anyone have any tricks on removing brake rotors that are siezed on the hubs? Strange that only the left side rotors are siezed. The right brake rotors come off fine? Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Heat the inside of the hub with a small propane torch and then hit with a soft hammer/mallet. The only other thing else i can think of is if the inside or the rotors have a small threaded hole in there install a bolt and tighten it. This should pop the rotor right off the hub (if there is a hole to put a bolt in).

The old method of "heat it and beat it" usually works for me. Be somewhat careful when beating at the rotor though. Damaging the rotor isn't really a problem as mentioned above (they're easily replaced and not too expensive). The big problem is that beating at the rotor sometimes results in damaged wheel bearings, and that is something you definately don't want to get in to. Trust me.

Yes. The '99 Type RS rotors have bolt holes on them. I'll give that a try. My 8-oz rubber mallet had no effect. Thanks, folks. 7racer, don't know why the left side brake rotors are siezed on the hubs.
