Yeah, that makes sense in that context. I agree that tires like the MX and 615 are reasonably priced yet offer superior grip. I just wish they offered more sizes......

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the Yoko AD07s. Expensive, but supposed to be killer street tires, very sticky in the dry but decent in the wet.

Whats the verdict between the Kuhmo MX and the RT615s in 275/40/17?

One or the other can be a possible temporary setup.... unless I really like them, then they might be permanent.

The Kumho will be the better wet tire of the two. A buddy of mine ran both tires on his ex-350z at the track and had similar lap times. He preferred the MX because the tread lasted longer. I plan on going with the Falkens for my next set of street tires unless the MX replacement is available by then.

Why the RT615s over the MXs?

The 615s are supposed to be stickier, but are more of a dry weather tire. You've gotta give a little to get a little

Basically as Rich said and the MX is older technology. It still holds up fairly well, but I'm not scared of a little sliding in the wet stuff.

The AD07 is prohibitively expensive, that's usually why I don't mention it.

Plus they don't really size under 17.
