yes you can do it
and
no there's really no reason to.

the 18 will just have a skinnier tire than the 17 to keep the the overall profile the same and the speedometer accurate.

17/18

I run this set up 17x8f & 18x9r 225/45/17f 265/35/18r speedo is just about dead nuts since it runs off the rear tire diameter. 285/30/18 would be as close as you can get to stock diameter

Don't put a 17x7 on an FD.

Basically what aznpoopy was saying is that you keep the overall diameter of the wheel + tire the same. The difference between a 17 and a 18 is just how much of that diameter is filled with the rim verse the tire sidewall. So you'll have more tire sidewall on the 17 than the 18. It won't quite look like the Corvette setup if that's what you are after.

Because 17x7s are piles of ****. Why would you put narrower wheels than stock?

wtf?

hello. stock wheel on a FD is 16x8
17x7 are bigger where it doesn't count and smaller where it does count. weight is bad, narrower is bad.

its a performance downgrade. waste of time and money.
