after market wheels

How's it going I was thinking of getting some aftermarket or even used oem wheels. And I was hoping you guys can drop a few names.

I need rims with these specs.

5x114.3 (4.5)
hub centric
17x7
38-45 offset
under 20 # (preferable)

and most important of all cheap. I'm not exactly ready to drop the money needed for some Ray Eng. wheels. I like the look of the new twist styled wheels on the new Porshes. I want five spokes, like how they look.

Now I was thinking of just buying some used wheels off of a 2000-2003 toyota seen a few that look okay. But, I prefer 17's. Less sidewall, plus they look nicer than smaller sizes.

The only ones I like that are in reasonal prices are the Enkei's. What do you know about these? As is l'm looking for more function than bragging rights.

thanks

Almost none of the wheels are hubcentric.
The Mazda RX-7's use some of the smallest hubs in the industry.
Almost all the aftermarket wheels are larger bores.
Good luck.

really? I figured that with the majority of new cars being hub centric that the aftermarket would produce accordingly.

What is it then? Does the aftermarket just make lug centric wheels and most just put up with it or do you guys go and spend the money for nice rims that work?

thanks for the reply

The logic doesn't make any sense...
Wouldn't you think aftermarket wheel manufacturers make large bores so their wheels fit every car?
You can't easily bore out a smaller center to fit a large hub, right?
There is an easy fix for these larger bores - they are called hubcentric adapters.
There are rings available that snap into place that fit between the hub and the wheel bore.

oh, see when you said that the majority of aftermarket wheels are not hub centric I thought you meant that they were in fact lug centric. I beleive that most stock wheels are some combination of the two.

What your saying is without the adaptor they are not hub centric, right? Sort of knew that. And yea it's easier for a company to make a wheel with a large bore so with use of an adaptor the wheel is once again hub centric. Guess I just got confused.

So thoughts on Enkei wheels? Those not from their racing line?

Thanks for the help I appreciate it,
Rip

That is correct.

I would think stock wheels are both lugcentric and hubcentric.

Yes, adapter would make a larger bore true hubcentric for your applcation / vehicle.

From my experience, most Enkei wheels run very large bored.
You'd need hubcentric adapters to get them to be hubcentric for your RX-7.
