265/45R16's on FD with stock wheels

I can get Kumho V710s in this size for autocross. I have only stock rims at the moment, will this work?

I'd say 'nope.'

Tire Rack lists 8.5 inch as absolute minimum for that width. Besides, it's a pretty nasty size.....25.4 overall rolling diameter in front, no thanks.

The V710s are available in 245/45 on Tire Rack, along with some other competition tires. I take it you're getting killer pricing on these?

These are v710s for autocrossing so the diameter increase is not an issue. And yeah, they're a lot cheaper than brand new. I've also seen the 8.5 minimum but that's for street tires.

they will fit on the wheels fine, but are a bit buldged. Fine for autoX IMO Im going through the same debate with the same tire for roadcourse, but think they wont work as good in high load corners.

Hm, based on this thread: https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...ight=265+stock it will be close to the fenders in the front. I think I could deal with a little bit of fender rolling. (The car needs a repaint anyway)

Does running a stiffer front swaybar help keep the front tires from reaching extremes and rubbing as much? I still have the stock swaybar in front.

yes, stiffer swaybar will reduce roll and keep the tires further away from the fenders. My experiance has always been that bumps and potholes have always given me more suspension movement than solo2. Is the car lowered and by how much?
The other thing to remember is that guys have been running 285/35/18 on 18x10 with a 50mm offset for years with no problems. The 710's real size should be a 275 (if not 285) but its about .75inch taller, so the minor rubbing issue.
I would personally do it without question for solo2, only reason I'm hesitating is on a roadcourse im taking corners 2-3 times faster and I think the tire might feel crappy despite being faster.

The 265 V710's will work on the stock 16x8 rim for autox. You do want to take into consideration the diameter as it changes overall gear ratio.

What suspension are you running?

Touring shocks on eibach prokit springs. It about 1.5" drop. These wheels will not be run on the street.

My front swaybar is still stock but I've been overdue to upgrade that.

You mean 285/30-18. In order to minimize rubbing on the inside on the fender liner you also need a pretty high ride height.

Dave, I mentioned the rolling diameter b/c it'll slow you down.... your 4.10s become ~4.0 with that rear size.

I'm not concerned with the difference in diameter. I have a set of 225 50s if these don't work well.

Dave, I used those in the past with stock springs, front neg camber maxed out and a 1.25" ST sway bar, with no problems. Don't know with lowered springs. If you autox you should definitely use a 1.25" sway bar though, either ST or RB --- and David B. sway bar mounts of course...
