Yeah it works. Many people run 245's on stock rims.

I have 245-45-16 Yoko A032R's on the stock rims and I think they look great. At least with that particular tire, it perfectly blocks off the sidewall.

245s

I run a 225 Kuhmo Victoracer front 245 on the back. Works well. I used to run the Yoko AO32Rs, but they howl like crazy on the highway. The Victoracers are a really nice tire for the RX7. Just ordered a new set of heat cycled ones for the track.

hmm nice to here...! What about Falken dot slicks on all 4 wheels, that really should make the car stick on the road!

Anyone got any pics of 245 on the 16" then?

Are these only on the 16in rims or can you fit 245s on the 15in rims too. I thought you could only go with 225 as the largest size on a stock 15in rim. Please correct me if I am wrong so I can put wider tires on my 7.

For some reason Marius never stated which stock wheels. I'm going to assume that he meant for the FD. For the FC, 245's on the 16x7 rims is too much. 215's are the most that should reasonably used. So what if larger goes on them, that doesn't mean that they'll be good.

I have 245 RE71s all around. It looks fine and doesn't rub w touring suspension. The real test will be when I install my koni yellows w eibach pros this spring.

OK those are thrid gen rims, what about 2nd gen 15s and 16s, what is the largest size you can place on them? I have 225s on my stock 15s and stock suspension with no rubbing. I hope to have the same resaults after I put my coilovers on. When I upgrade to 17s that might be another story.

I have them on right now as I wait for my new rims (and car back). I have driven on them since about September.

They are fine, they look fine, they drive better, especially in the rain although that probably has to do with the PP S-03's instead of my revered but imho shitty Michellin Pilots.

However I unfortunatley can keep them spinning into 3rd gear with my mods still....
