245/45/16 on stock FD rim?

So a local RX-7 forum user has some old tires in his yard he is giving away (thanks risc!). So I jumped on it.

The problem is, I don't know how well the tires will fit. The tires I have on my car right now are 225/50/16. I'm fairly sure the tire will mount on the rim, but that's not to say it would be a good idea. Will the 245/45/16s fit ok? Any problems with steering response, or rubbing on the wheel well? Would I need to roll the fenders?

TIA

That tire will fit perfectly. It will actually have a slightly shorter sidewall and the width is slightly wider but all in all its a perfect fit on stock wheels.

I have heard numerous people say that the 245/45/16 will rub in front, rear is okay of course. The size will fit on the stock rims no problem. If the tires are directional and you're running different sizes front and back, you won't be able to rotate the tires... That's probably the only set back...

That size is prefect, and why would a smaller size rub in the front? Come on now!
