19" rims? Searched for pros/cons . . .

Ah crap, i've fallen for a set of 19" rims . . . . .

The good thing about these is that they have a good staggered setup for the FD. 19x8.5+40 and 19x9.5+40. If i do decide to go with these rims what should i expect? I know i'd be sacrificing some ride quality and performance. Is there any good suspension setups to counter act this? Thanks!

You can't really counter excessive weight and rubber-band tire sidewalls. There are lots of wheels that look like that in 18" sizes that fit FDs....the SSR GT-2 comes to mind and they are even on closeout at Tire Rack for only $350/wheel.

I believe the G-games are cast wheels....19" cast wheels won't survive too many potholes on an FD. IMO, 19" wheels are just for show....except for the fact that your stock brakes will look PUNY...not to good for aesthetics...

Apex,

Since you are in FL, it probably won't be that big of a deal to run them. However, if you decide to track, the car, you'll want some smaller rims for that (having a track and street set of rims).

You see that picture of the show car with 19's? Take a look at the tire sidewall height. Not much there. You'll have to be VERY careful driving something like that around as it will be VERY easy to damage the rim.

Where I live, something like that would be trashed within a few blocks (since we have winters that tear up the roads).

I understand your point Mahjik. I'm in the military so i'll be moving around alot . . . . 17" rims would probably be my best bet for surviving the roads up North. Thanks again!

heres a good idea get the 19's you want and keep your stock(or whatever wheels you have) for use during the winter so you can keep your wheels nice when it rains/snows because your nice wheels will never see winter

I'd at least try to get a forged wheel if you want to run 19".... otherwise you can look forward to pimpin' that "one stock wheel" look made famous by body kitted Hondas everywhere.

I feel your pain brother, I love those rims too but the simple fact that they're 19s made me say no. That's why I'm sticking with my plan to get Do Luck Double Sixes, no matter how much they cost, haha. But good luck with whatever you do. What job in the AF did you get BTW? And what base?

I have the Yokohama AVS Connoisseur 19s with 235 front and 265 rear. Also with Kei Office coilovers. I have no complains at all... only complaint is that I get too much stares... people snapping their neck when I drive by them. 19s are really nice if you're just street use, for sure not for tracks... if you're just like me, just drive the car on a regular basis, nothing crazy or stupid. I say why not. you have a nice car and you wanna show it off, want people to envy you. as longs as you like it, then get the 19s. don't have to care what people think. everyone has their own point of view. if you want them, get them.
