Yeah, I see. Fikses are exactly 1 inch wider than nominal, so what you see from outside lip to outside lip is 11 inches wide. I'm not sure if the CE28Ns are 1 inch wider than nominal. Even if they are, you're only talking 0.25 inches more on either side, which isn't much. What you're adding is more support for a wider tire to be mounted, ie 285 or 295 section width. As a precaution, I'd roll both fr/rr fender lips upward--assuming you run a max width setup, like 9.5/10.5 x 18 fr/rr with 265/35-18 fr and 295/30-18 rr. Hey Cossie, the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup Comps come in those steamroller-width sizes

One of our favorite Volk dealers (not mentioning any names :-)... should order one 10.5" CE28N, mount a Conti 295/30/18 on it, and see if it fits once and for all...

FWIW, the Fikses are 1.125" wider than nominal, rim lip to rim lip. I'm gonna measure everything about them :-)

Cossie:
Sorry for the semi-hijacking of your thread... your car loks great, definately the best CE28 application i've seen on a RX7... kicking myself in the *** for not snapping them up from you!!

I'd be willing to donate my car as the test-fitment car LOL

Fikses are 1-1/8 inches wider than nominal? I thought the CCWs were 1-1/8 inch wider than nominal (Max Cooper's measurement of 11-1/8 inches overall width for a 10-inch wide nominal tire bead with)? Based on the fitment chart Fikse used to have on their website, I calculated exactly 1 inch wider than nominal.

Hey Cossie, you could sell your rear 9.5 x 18 CE28Ns to Peter, and you each could buy a set of two 10.5 x 18s and mount 295/30-18s for the rears. Don't forget to fill us on the fitment. My guess is 10.5 x 18, 44-mm offset will work--with rear fender lip rolling and perhaps -1.5 degrees rear wheel camber

265/35-18 all around, 9.5 x 18. Color looks custom? Yeah, very nice. I still think 10.5 x 18 with 295/30-18 in back will fit with a little rear fender lip rolling Do it, Cossie

Cool Cossie's been spotted!

LOOKS GREAT!

295/30-18s on 10.5 x 18 in back, Cossie. It will fit with some creative use of a baseball bat wrapped with a towel

http://www.rayswheels.co.jp/emenu/wheel.html

According to the current Ray's website, standard colors are bronze and silver for 17/18 inch. Cossie's appears to be a custom color?

http://www.rayswheels.co.jp/emenu/wheel.html

According to this size table, the 10.5 x 18s are 45-mm offset. The "star" indicates large caliper clearances for Rx7--indeed the 9.5 x 18s, 47-mm offset are the ones to put up front on our FD3S Rx7s.

Check with Wheel Source. They can special order your size from Japan.

If you order from Wheel Source, tell them "Manny" sent you

I'm pretty sure his ad said they were a custom grey color.

Yeah, I realized that when I scrolled back to the top and saw a better shot of Cossie's wheel color.

Inital thoughts on the Sport cups

DO WARM THEM UP....It too me almost 2 laps at laguna seca to fully warm them up...and starrt them up cold...
They are nice for 33-36 hot. Nothing more .....

Once warm, they are great...although I didnt push them much as I am still learning my car...

Harsh and "streamline" like any other R compounds...
grabs everything and anything on the road...

I've heard they are slick when cold... but could you quallify that? Does "slick" mean "still stickier than a street tire" like it does for other "R"s?

I'll be real curious to hear you impressions of them for street/dail driving too... and in a little rain.

Do you have any more room for a +42 offset in the front or a 285 tire? What is your impression of the wheel tire combo compared to other set ups?
